T20 World Cup is an international championship of twenty-twenty cricket, organized by the International Cricket Council. Sixteen teams play in the tournament, and out of these 16 teams, India emerges as one of the successful teams in the tournament. The journey of the T20 World Cup for India has been nothing less than a rollercoaster ride. Out of the seven T20 World Cups that have happened, India has won just one. 1. India Vs. England

This match happened in the inaugural T20 World Cup tournament. India batted first on 19 September 2007 in Durban and scored 218 runs losing four wickets. England came to chase the target but failed and scored 200 runs losing six wickets, and India won the match by 18 runs. Yuvraj Singh scored 58 runs in 16 balls and was the man of the match. He also scored six sixes in six balls against Stuart Broad.

2. India Vs. Afghanistan

India played against Afghanistan on 3 November 2021 and scored 210 runs losing two wickets. Afghanistan failed to chase the target and scored 144 runs in 20 overs, losing seven wickets. India won that match by 66 runs, and Rohit Sharma was the man of the match for scoring 74 runs in 47 balls.

3. India Vs. West Indies

It was the semi-final match played on 31 March 2016. India played first and scored 192 runs losing three wickets, and Virat Kohli scored 89 runs. West Indies chased the target in 19.4 overs scoring 196 runs and losing three wickets. India lost the match by seven wickets and was out of the World Cup. Lendl Simmons was the man of the match for scoring 82 runs in 51 balls.

4. India vs. Australia

India faced Australia in the semi-final game of the inaugural World Cup edition on 22 September 2007 in Durban. India played first and scored 188 runs in 20 overs, losing five wickets. Australia lost the match by 15 runs when they failed to chase the target and scored 173 runs losing seven wickets. Yuvraj Singh scored 70 runs in 30 balls and was the player of the match.

5. India Vs. South Africa

It was the fifth match played on 2 May 2010 in Gros Islet. India scored 186 runs playing first and gave the African team a target of 187 runs, and they scored only 172 runs and lost the match by 14 runs. Suresh Raina scored a century in 60 balls scoring 101 runs and was declared man of the match.

6. New Zealand Vs. India

New Zealand batted first on 16 September 2007 and scored 190 runs in 20 overs, and India lost the match by ten runs as they scored 180 runs for nine wickets. Gautam Gambhir was the highest scorer from the Indian side and scored 51 runs in 33 balls.

7. India Vs. Bangladesh

This match was played in Nottingham on 6 June 2009, and India batting first scored 180 runs with the help of Gautam Gambhir, who scored a half-century in the first innings. Pragyan Ojha took four wickets and was the man of the match that made Bangladesh fail to chase the target, and they lost the game by 25 runs as they scored 155 runs.

8. South Africa Vs. India

South Africa faced India in Mirpur in the semi-final game of the 2014 World Cup edition. The African team batted first and scored 172 runs losing four wickets. Virat Kohli scored 72 runs in 44 balls which helped the Indian team chase the target in 19.1 overs, where they scored 176 runs losing four wickets. He was the man of the match.

9. India Vs. England

India faced England in Colombo on 23 September 2012, and they scored 170 runs losing four wickets with the help of Rohit Sharma, who scored 55 runs. Harbhajan Singh took four wickets for his team, and England lost the match by 90 runs. They scored only 80 runs in 14.4 overs.

10. India Vs. Sri Lanka

India scored 163 runs losing five wickets in the first innings on 11 May 2010 in Gros Islet. Suresh Raina scored 63 runs in 47 balls. Sri Lanka chased the target with the help of Angelo Mathews, who scored 46 runs in 37 balls and was the man of the match. Sri Lanka scored 167 runs losing five wickets.
