Since the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) first season in 2013, various teams and franchises have produced noteworthy players who have scored a mighty amount of runs for their respective teams. These players have evolved themselves to become the core of their team. They have made their impact not only in the CPL, but around the globe, and to justify this we have compiled a list of the top 10 run-getters of the event over the years.

10. Shoaib Malik: 1709 Runs

(Barbados Trident, Guyana Amazon Warriors) The Pakistani legend has represented Barbados Trident and Guyana Amazon warriors in his career of CPL. In the last eight years, he has scored 1709 runs in just 57 matches (and counting). He has an average of 38.84, which is more than adequate for any T20 player, and a strike rate of 121.03, indicating that he knows how to perform on any conditions on any given day.

9. Darren Bravo: 1729 Runs

(Trinbago Knight Riders) Throughout his career, he has been with only one squad and has proven to be not only loyal but also a powerful batter for them. DM Bravo, in his 82 matches for Trinbago Knight Riders, has scored 1729 runs at 119.24 SR, with a best of 94*. He is one of the few batsmen in history to have more significant sixes than fours. Isn't it incredible?

8. Colin Munro: 1766 Runs

(Trinbago Knight Riders) Another knight who features in the list. The Kiwi batsman has represented knights in only 55 matches thus far, but he has already collected a staggering1766 runs. He has also achieved a century not out for the team, not to forget that an unbeaten 96, along with a humongous partnership of 124 runs with Lendl Simmons, which helped TKR set the record for the most runs scored in an inning (267/2). With the strike rate of 137.64, we know how dangerous Colin Munro can be if he gets along.

7. Evin Lewis: 1793 Runs

(St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel) The 29-year-old has played for two teams in his CPL career and has racked up a lot of runs. Evin Lewis has scored 1793 runs in 70 matches with an impressive strike rate of 139.20. In the CPL, he is second only to Chris Gayle in the number of sixes. It demonstrates what a talented batsman he is.

6. Chadwick Walton: 1850 Runs

(Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs) Known for his notebook celebration, Chadwick Walton has played over 80 matches collectively for both teams and has never disappointed. With a total of 1850 runs under his belt, he is now ranked sixth on the list. The right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman has scored runs at a decent strike rate of 120.83. In 2017, for Guyana Amazon Warriors, he scored marvelous 458 runs in 12 matches and was part of Jamaica Tallawahs when they won the first season of CPL in 2013.

5. Kieron Pollard: 1968 Runs

(Barbados Tridents, St Lucia Stars, Knight Riders) The West Indies Legend Kieron Pollard has amassed a total of 1968 runs at a strike rate of a massive 152.32. The TKR captain has lifted the cup twice in his reigns. In the 2020 edition, KP scored 207 runs in 11 innings and that too with a strike rate of 204.95 This man is always there for the Trinbago Knight Riders when they need him.

4. Johnson Charles: 2068 Runs

(Antigua, Barbados Royals, Barbados Tridents, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Lucia Stars, St Lucia Zouks) In 2019, he was the highest scorer for his team with 415 runs, and in 2017, he scored 441 runs at 143.2 SR. Johnson Charles has played for five different teams in CPL, and in total, has scored  2068 runs at 128.92 SR.

3. Andre Fletcher: 2090 Runs

(St Lucia Zouks) Fletcher has scored 250 in every season with an average of 30 since 2015, with the exception of 2016 and 2019, when he scored at below par 115 SR. With 2090 runs, Andre Fletcher has been a consistent run machine for St. Lucia Zouk’s and will be hungry for more.

2. Chris Gayle: 2366 Runs

(Jamaica Tallawahs, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots) The universe boss Chris Gayle needs no introduction when it comes to t20 cricket. In CPL or anywhere across the world he has garnered love and lots of runs. The southpaw has played for two franchises in the tournament, has scored 2366 runs, and has broken too many glass shields around the stadiums. Despite having a bad season in 2019, he scored a century against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. All of these runs and that too at strike rate and with an average of 133.44 and 38.78, respectively, demonstrating the universe boss’s speed and consistency.

1. Lendl Simmons: 2441 Runs

(Jamaica Tallawahs, Guyana Amazon Warriors, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, St Lucia Stars, Trinbago Knight Riders) Another experienced t20 specialist, Lendl Simmons is a go-to batsman when it comes to CPL. With an average of 33.43 and a strike rate of 120.30, the right-handed opener has scored 2441 runs in 83 games for five different teams. As of season 2021, Lendl Simmons is the all-time leading scorer in the history of CPL.
