From Sir Donald Bradman to Steven Smith, Australia has produced a plethora of great batters, and the team has never been short of them. Scoring a century in a Test match is a big achievement for some, but there are some who make it a habit and go on to score multiple centuries during their careers. Some batters also have a liking for some teams against whom they always bring their "A" game. The following article names some of the Australian batters to score the most centuries against a particular team in Test cricket.

1. Donald Bradman

Sir Donald Bradman was a right-handed batter from Cootamundra, New South Wales, and one of the most renowned cricketers of all time. Bradman made his Test debut in 1928 against England at Brisbane and played in Test cricket until 1948. In 52 matches, he scored 6996 runs at an average of 99.94 with 29 centuries to his name. He hit 19 centuries against England, the most for any batter against one single team.

2. Steven Smith

Steven Smith is a right-handed top-order batter for Australia who first played a Test match in 2010 against Pakistan at Lord’s. Since then, he has been a part of the Australian Test side and has played in 87 matches, scoring 8161 runs at an average of 60. He has scored 11 centuries against England until now in 32 matches.

3. Steve Waugh

Steve Waugh was a right-handed middle-order batter from Sydney, New South Wales. From 1985 to 2004, Waugh played in 168 matches and scored over 10,000 runs. He scored ten centuries against England in 46 matches and scored 3200 runs at an average of 58.18 with a highest score of 177 not out.

4. Greg Chappell

Greg Chappell was a right-handed top-order batter from Adelaide, South Australia. From 1970 to 1984, he played in 87 matches for Australia and scored 7110 runs at an average of 53.86. He played 35 Test matches against England and scored 2619 runs at an average of 45.94 with nine centuries to his name.

5. Neil Harvey

Neil Harvey was a left-handed batter from Melbourne, Victoria, who first played a Test match in 1948 against India at Adelaide. Until 1963, he featured in 79 matches and scored 6149 runs, with 21 hundred to his name. He played against South Africa in 14 Test matches and scored 1625 runs at an average of 81.25 with eight centuries to his name.

6. Steven Smith

Steven Smith features twice on our list. This time, the right-handed middle-order batter features on the list for his outstanding record against India. He has played against India in 14 Test matches so far and has scored 1742 runs at an average of 72.58 with eight tonnes to his name already.

7. Arthur Morris

Arthur Morris was a left-handed batter from Sydney, New South Wales, who played his maiden Test against England at Brisbane in 1946. Until 1955, he played in 46 Test matches and scored 3533 runs at an average of 46.48 with 12 tonnes to his name. He played 24 matches against England and scored 2080 runs in 43 innings at an average of 50.73, including eight centuries.

8. Ricky Ponting

Ricky Ponting was a right-handed top-order batter from Launceston, Tasmania. Ponting played his first Test match in 1995 against Sri Lanka at Perth and, until 2012, played in 168 matches, scoring more than 13,000 runs at an average of 58.72. He played 26 Test matches against South Africa and scored 2132 runs at an average of 47.37 with eight centuries to his name.

9. Ricky Ponting

Next on the list is Ricky Ponting again, but this time he is featured for his record against India. Ponting played 29 Test matches against India from 1996 to 2012 and scored 2555 runs at an average of 54.36 with eight centuries and 12 half-centuries to his name. His score against India was 257.

10. Ricky Ponting

Next, we have Ricky Ponting, the only player to appear three times on our list. From 1997 to 2010, Ponting played against England in Test cricket in 35 matches and scored 2476 runs in 58 innings at an average of 44.21. He scored eight centuries against them, with the highest score of 196.
