1. Shane Warne

Shane Warne, the spin legend, and Australia’s most successful Test bowler is the first to appear on our list. Warne was born in Victoria in 1969 and played his first Test for Australia in 1992 against India in Sydney. Before retiring in 2007, he took 708 wickets in 145 matches at an average of 25.41. He got 10 ten-wicket-hauls-in-a-match during his Test career.

2. Clarrie Grimmett

Clarrie Grimmett, the right-arm leg break bowler from Otago, New Zealand, is next to feature on the list. Clarrie played his first Test in 1925 against England at Sydney, and until 1936 he played in 37 matches. He took 216 wickets at an average of 24.21. In 67 innings, he took ten-wickets-in-a-match seven times.

3. Dennis Keith Lillee

Dennis Keith Lillee, the right-arm fast bowler from Perth, Western Australia, is up next. Lille made his Test debut in 1971 against England at Adelaide and was part of the Test team until 1984. He played 70 Test matches and picked up 355 wickets at an average of 23.92. In 132 innings, he got seven ten-wickets-in-a-match.

4. Frederick Spofforth

Frederick Spofforth was a right-arm fast medium bowler from Sydney, New South Wales. In 1877, he played his first Test match against England at Melbourne. During his 18-Test career, he picked up 94 wickets at an impressive average of 18.41. He took four ten-wickets-in-a-match. In 1887, he played his last match against England at Sydney.

5. Hugh Trumble

Hugh Trumble, the right-arm off break bowler from Melbourne, is next on the list. Trumble was first seen playing for Australia in 1890 against England at Lord’s. He played 32 matches for Australia and took 141 wickets at an average of 21.78 with three ten-wicket-hauls-in-a-match to his name. In 1904, he played his last match against England at Melbourne.

6. Bill O’Reilly

Bill O’Reilly was a right-arm leg break bowler from New South Wales and one of Australia’s most prolific bowlers in the 1930s. Bill played his first match in Test cricket in 1932 against South Africa at Adelaide. In 27 matches, he took 144 wickets at an average of 22.59, with three ten-wicket hauls-in-a-match during his Test career.

7. Mitchell Johnson

Mitchell Johnson, the left-arm fast bowler from Queensland, is next on our list. Johnson made his Test debut in 2007 against Sri Lanka and was in the Test team until 2015. He picked up 313 wickets in 73 matches at an average of 28.40. In 140 innings, he picked up three ten-wickets-in-a-match.

8. Graham Douglas McKenzie

Graham Douglas McKenzie was a right-arm fast bowler who hailed from Perth, Western Australia. Graham played his first Test in 1961 against England at Lord’s and played a total of 60 Test matches for Australia. In 113 innings, he picked up 246 wickets at an average of 29.78. He had three ten-wickets-in-a-match to his name by the time he retired. He retired in 1971 after playing his last match against England at Sydney.

9. Nathan Lyon

Nathan Lyon, Australia’s most successful finger spinner in Test cricket, is next up on the list. Prior to playing Test cricket for Australia, Lyon worked as a ground staff member at the Adelaide Oval. He played his first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle in 2011 and has been a permanent member of the Australian Test team since then. He has picked up 438 wickets in 207 innings at an average of 32.07 with three ten-wickets-in-a-match to his name.

10. Glenn McGrath

Glenn McGrath, the right-arm fast medium bowler from Dubbo, New South Wales, also registers his name on our list. Glenn was first seen playing for Australia in 1993 against New Zealand in Perth. Until 2007, he played in 124 Tests and took 563 wickets at an average of 21.64. He took three ten-wicket-in-a-match during his Test career.
