The 2011-founded Adelaide Strikers are a cricket franchise team that competes in the Big Bash League, Australia's national T20 competition, on behalf of Adelaide, South Australia. As they placed sixth in the competition, it was a poor start to their BBL journey. The franchise experiences more lousy luck up until 2014. In 2014, they finished first in their league stages under Johan Botha's direction but were content with third place overall. The Adelaide Strikers' 2017–2018 BBL season was their best to date, and they were able to win their first BBL championship by defeating the Hobart Hurricanes by 25 runs in the finals.
