One of the few BBL teams with three championships was the Sydney Sixers. They were the champions when Brad Haddin captained the Sydney Sixers in the BBL's inaugural season. They were finalists in the third and eighth BBl editions. They finished second in the fourth, sixth, and eleventh BBL editions. They demonstrated they were one of the BBL's strongest teams with outstanding performances. Brad Haddin led the team during the inaugural BBL season, and Moises Henriques took over as captain as the team won three straight titles in 2011–2012, 2020–21, and 2021–22.
