Brisbane Heat was an affiliated cricket team in the Big Bash League. When it first played in 2011, James Hopes served as the team's captain. The Brisbane Heat had their most successful season in the second BBL when they won. They successfully entered the sixth BBL but were defeated in the semifinals. Even though they had a second chance to win the championship in the 12th BBL, they finished in second place.
