Cricket is a game of ups and downs, and the easiest example to illustrate this is how quickly a batter who scores a century in one match may be out for a duck in the very next game. Nothing is constant in this game, and a batter has to perform every time he steps on the field. However, this is practically impossible and batters are bound to have some bad days where they can't even score a single run. In the below article, we shall mention some of Bangladesh's batters with the most ducks in one-day cricket.

1. Tamim Iqbal

Tamim Iqbal, a left-handed opening batter from Chittagong and one of the best batters produced by Bangladesh, is the first one to feature on our list. Tamim was first seen playing for Bangladesh in ODI cricket in 2007 against Zimbabwe in Harare. Until 2022, he had played in 237 ODIs, scoring over 8000 runs and having 19 ducks to his name.

2. Habibul Bashar

Habibul Bashar, a former Bangladesh captain and a right-handed top-order batter, is placed second on our list. During his ODI career from 1995 to 2007, he featured in 111 ODIs and scored 2168 runs at an average of 21.68. He got out on a duck 18 times during his career.

3. Mohammad Rafique

Next on the list is Mohammad Rafique, a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and a left-handed batter from Dhaka. In 1995, Rafique made his ODI debut against India at Sharjah. Until 2007, he played in 123 ODIs and scored close to 1200 runs. He got out without scoring in a match 15 times.

4. Mashrafe Mortaza

Mashrafe Mortaza, one of Bangladesh’s most loved and popular personalities and a former Bangladesh captain, comes next on the list. Mortaza began his ODI career in 2001 against Zimbabwe at Chattogram and was part of the team until 2020. He played in 218 matches and went without scoring 15 times in 156 innings.

5. Mohammad Ashraful

Mohammad Ashraful was a right-handed middle-order batter from Dhaka. Ashraful first got to play for Bangladesh in ODI cricket in 2001 against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo. Until 2013, he played in 175 matches and scored 3468 runs in 168 innings at an average of 22.37. He got out on a duck 13 times in his ODI career.

6. Abdur Razzak

Next on our list comes Abdur Razzak, who played as a slow left-arm orthodox bowler for Bangladesh. Razzak batted as a left-handed lower-order batter. From 2004 to 2014, he was a member of the Bangladeshi ODI team. In 153 matches, he scored 779 runs, with the highest score of 53. He got out on a duck 12 times in his ODI career.

7. Shakib Al Hasan

Next, we have Shakib Al Hasan, a left-handed top-order batter and a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. Shakib is one of the best all-rounders produced by Bangladesh. He made his ODI debut in 2006 and has played in 221 matches, scoring 6755 runs at an average of 37.73. He has 12 ducks to his name in ODI cricket.

8. Rubel Hossain

Eighth on the list is Rubel Hossain, who was a right-arm fast bowler for Bangladesh. In 2009, Rubel made his one-day international debut against Sri Lanka at Mirpur. He played for Bangladesh in ODIs until 2021 and played in 104 matches. In 53 innings, he got out without scoring 11 times.

9. Shahriar Nafees

Shahriar Nafees was a left-handed top-order batter for Dhaka. Nafees made his ODI debut in 2005 against England at Nottingham. He got to play 75 matches for Bangladesh in ODI cricket, where he scored 2201 runs at an average of 31.44. He got out on a duck 11 times during his ODI career.

10. Mushfiqur Rahim

At number ten, we have Mushfiqur Rahim, a former Bangladesh captain and a right-handed wicketkeeper batter from Bogra. Since making his debut in 2006 against Zimbabwe in Harare, Rahim has been a permanent figure in the Bangladeshi ODI team and has played in 236 matches so far. He has scored over 6700 runs with 11 ducks to his name in 221 innings.
