Bangladesh gained test status in 2000 after playing in the ODI World Cup a year before. The Tigers did not win a test match until 2005 when they defeated Zimbabwe to win their first-ever test match. 1. Shakib Al-Hasan

Shakib Al-Hasan has taken the highest number of wickets for Bangladesh in test matches. He has represented the Bangladesh team in 59 test matches. The left-handed all-rounder has picked up 215 wickets at an average of 31.30 with 18 five-wicket hauls and two ten-wicket hauls in his Test career. Shakib’s best Test bowling figures in an innings are 7/36.

2. Taijul Islam

Taijul Islam holds the second position on this list. Taijul has represented the Bangladesh test team in 35 matches and scalped 144 wickets at an average of 32.61. He has so far picked up nine five-wicket hauls and one ten-wicket haul in his test match career. Taijul’s best bowling performance in an innings is 8/39.

3. Mehidy Hasan Miraz

Mehidy Hasan Miraz first represented the Bangladesh test team in 2016. He has gone on to play 31 test matches and picked up 119 wickets at an average of 34.89. The off-spinner has picked up eight five-wicket hauls and two ten-wicket hauls in his Test match career, with the best performance in an innings of 7/58.

4. Mohammad Rafique

The former left-arm spin bowler from Bangladesh represented his nation in 33 test matches, starting from 2000. He took 100 wickets at an average of 40.76 with seven five-wicket hauls. Rafique’s best figures in an innings are 6/77.

5. Mashrafe Mortaza

Mortaza is a former captain of the Bangladesh cricket team. He represented the Bangladesh test team in 36 matches and took 78 wickets at an average of 41.52. Mortaza did not pick up any five-wicket haul in his career, with his best figures in an innings being 4/60.

6. Shahadat Hossain

Shahadat Hossain played as a right-arm medium-fast bowler for Bangladesh. He was a part of 38 test matches for them and picked 72 wickets at an average of 51.81. Shahadat took four five-wicket hauls in his Test career, and his best bowling performance in an innings was 6/27.

7. Enamul Haque Junior

The slow left-arm spin bowler from Bangladesh was a part of 15 test matches in which he took 44 wickets at an average of 40.61. Enamul Haque Junior began his test career in 2003 and played his last test match in 2013. He picked up three five-wicket hauls and one ten-wicket haul in his test match career with the best figures of 7/95.

8. Mahmudullah

The batting all-rounder from Bangladesh has been a part of 50 test matches in which he took 43 wickets at an average of 45.53. Mahmudullah Riyad started his test match career in 2009 and picked up one five-wicket haul with the best bowling figures of 5/51.
