Even the greatest players have gotten out on ducks, but some players have done so quite often. However, in this article, the focus is solely on English cricketers who have the most ducks in Test cricket.

The list is flooded by bowlers, keeping in mind their area of expertise.

10. Andrew Flintoff (17)

Andrew Flintoff, also known as "Freddie", also appears on the list. He is the only all-rounder to feature on the list. He was a complete player and had around 4000 Test runs, and more than 200 Test wickets to his name. However, he too had his misfortunes with the bat. He was dismissed without scoring 17 times in his Test career.

9. John Snow (19)

The best fast bowler of England during the mid-60s, John Snow, is ninth on the list. He represented England from 1965 to 1976. He took 202 Test wickets at an average of 26.66. With regards to batting, John scored 772 runs in his Test career and has been dismissed on 19 occasions without scoring a run. This makes him feature on the list.

8. Derek Underwood (19)

Derek Underwood played for England from 1966 to 1982 and was a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He got to his name 297 Test wickets, proving his ability with the ball. He was accurate and consistent thus rated highly as a spinner. Talking of his batting, he scored 937 runs in 86 Tests, having got out without scoring 19 times.

7. Andy Caddick (19)

Andy Caddick, born and brought up in New Zealand, played for England from 1993 to 2003. A tall and tough guy, Andy was frustrating for the batters when he was in rhythm. He took 234 Test wickets in 62 matches. However, his batting was quite the opposite. He scored a mere 846 runs in his Test career and was dismissed on a duck 19 times.

6. Mathew Hoggard (19)

Next on the list is Mathew Hoggard, another fast bowler to feature on the list. He played for England for nine years and was a pretty quick bowler. He took 248 wickets in his Test career. His batting was still limited, but he had developed himself as a handy night-watchman. Yet he was dismissed on a duck 19 times in his Test career.

5. Mike Atherton (20)

A former England captain and an opening batsman, Mike Atherton, is one of the few batsmen to make it into this list. With more than 7500 Test runs to his name, it is very miserable that he has such a record against his name. Nonetheless, his 20 ducks cannot disregard his contribution to England cricket.

4. Steve Harmison (20)

The six-foot-four pace bowler of England, Steve Harmison, also makes it to the list. He bowled a terrific spell of 7 for 12 at Sabina Park in 2004, showcasing his skills as a bowler. Nevertheless, he could not show his mettle as a batsman, amassing just 743 runs to his name alongside 20 ducks.

3. Monty Panesar (20)

One of the best left-arm spinners of England, Monty Panesar, is third on the list. He is remembered for his accuracy with the ball and a Test match that he saved with his batting in the 2009 Ashes. However, his batting career was not as successful as he would have wanted. He has been dismissed on zero 20 times during his fifty-match Test career.

2. James Anderson (30)

Next on the list is the England veteran and the most successful test pacer of all time, James Anderson. He has troubled some of the best batters in the world. But this does not hide the fact that he, too, has had batting struggles. He registers his name on the list with 30 ducks, second only to his bowling partner, Stuart Broad.

1. Stuart Broad (39)

One of the top wicket takers for England in Test cricket, Stuart Broad, is unfortunately on the top of this list. With 39 ducks to his name in Test cricket, he is well ahead of the rest of the players. A player with over 3000 Test runs and a Test century to his name would surely not want a record like this before his name.
