759/7(dec) against England in 2016 remains the highest innings total India has ever scored to this very day during the 5th England Tour of India Series 2016-17 Test. The test was famous because Karun Nair scored 303 and became the second Indian Batsman to score a triple-century. India won that test match by an Innings, 75 runs after England only scored 207 runs.

2. 726/9(dec) - Sri Lanka Vs. India 2009

The second-highest test innings score was 726/9(dec) against Sri Lanka in 2009. The combined effort of an incredible 293 by Virender Sehwag, a century by MS Dhoni, and half-centuries by Sachin Tendulkar, Murali Vijay, and VVS Laxman brought India to a massive total of 726/9. The Sri Lankans were bowled out for 309, ensuring the win by an innings and 24 runs.

3. 707 – India Vs. Sri Lanka 2010

5. 687/6(dec) – India Against Bangladesh 2017

In the 1st Test Match, India posted a massive total of 687/6(declared) with Virat Kohli, who smashed a double century(209), and Wriddhiman Saha, who scored his second test century. 6. 675/5(dec) – India Vs. Pakistan 2004

Our sixth-highest Indian team total comes from the India tour of Pakistan in 2004, in which Virender Sehwag smashed a triple century and became the first Indian batsman to ever score a triple century, along with Sachin, scoring 194 runs, thus setting a massive total of 675/5(declared) for Pakistan. This was India’s highest team total then and the country’s second-highest against Pakistan. India won by an innings and 52 runs after the follow-on was enforced upon Pakistan.

7. 664 – India Vs. England 2007

664 against England at the Oval in 2007 remains one of the highest test totals by India, especially as Anil Kumble scored his maiden Test Century(110) along with numerous knocks from MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Dinesh Karthik, and Rahul Dravid. Anil Kumble became only the third player to take all 10 wickets(against Pakistan) and score a Century in Tests. The result was a comfortable draw and a series win for India in England since 1986.

8. 649/9(dec) – India Vs. West Indies 2018

649/9(dec) against West Indies remains the highest innings total to date scored against West Indies. This inning included a century knock by Prithvi Shaw, who became the 2nd youngest Indian to score a test century after Sachin Tendulkar himself. Virat Kohli scored his 24th Test Hundred to become the second-fastest batsman to reach that milestone after Sir Don Bradman. As did Ravindra Jadeja, who scored his century and made one of the most iconic celebrations in cricketing history, as he swung his bat like a sword. West Indies were bowled out for 181 and 196 runs in both their innings as India went on to win the match by an innings and 272 runs.

9. 643/6(dec) – India Vs. South Africa 2010

Our Ninth- Highest Indian Team total stands against South Africa; in 2010, India reached 643/6 (dec), with Sehwag (165), Sachin (109), VVS Laxman, and MS Dhoni all scoring centuries. India bowled out South Africa for 296 and 290 runs as Harbhajan Singh picked up 5 wickets in each South African inning. The match was won comfortably by India by an innings and 57 runs. 10. 631 – India Vs. England(2016)

631 against England in 2016 remains one of India’s highest team totals in Indian Cricket History. This match is Mostly noted for Virat Kohli's 231-run knock, thus becoming the first Indian Captain to hit three double hundreds in Tests, and a maiden test century from Jayant Yadav.
