India is a nation that consistently performs well at World Cups. In six of the 12 World Cup competitions that have taken place, the men in blue have advanced to the semifinals. They have won the championship twice, in 1983 and 2011. The likelihood of making the Indian team and playing in a World Cup game is quite slim. Thus far, the World Cup has eluded many seasoned Indian cricketers who have represented their country for several years. Let us look at Indian cricketers who have never played in the world cup.

1. VVS Laxman

He participated in 86 ODIs and amassed 2338 runs at a mediocre average of 30.8. Laxman, who was a backup batsman in India's World Cup squad in 2003, was forced to miss the entire competition. He did not play in either the 1999 or 2007 World Cups, therefore his wish to play in a World Cup match while wearing Indian colors was never realized. Alongside Australia's Justin Langer, Laxman is still one of just two cricket players in the post-World Cup era to play 100 tests but not a single World Cup match.

2. Irfan Pathan

In a short amount of time, Irfan had a career that was reasonably successful, taking up 173 wickets in 120 games. Irfan Pathan's career might be divided into two distinct periods: the first, when he earned a name for himself on the world stage, and the second when things started to go south for him. By 2009, Irfan was no longer a regular. Although he briefly returned in 2011 and 2012, his international career was over.

3. Amit Mishra

Despite being older than Mishra, Ravichandran Ashwin was chosen to partner with Harbhajan Singh in the 2011 World Cup. There was no room for Mishra in the first-choice Eleven by 2015 because Ashwin had already solidified his place in the lineup. Subsequently, the team of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal formed, ending Mishra's career as a global player. In his 36 ODI matches, Mishra took 64 wickets, including 2 five-wicket hauls.

4. Ambati Rayudu

Rayudu made his ODI debut for India against Zimbabwe in July 2013. He joined and left the squad frequently, much like many others, and did not make a name for himself over time. Rayudu was chosen for the Indian World Cup team in 2015 but did not play in any matches. Then, in 2018, after establishing himself as the No.4 batsman, he was unexpectedly passed over in favor of Vijay Shankar by the selectors. He has never played for India in a World Cup match as a result.

5. Vinay Kumar

Vinay Kumar has appeared frequently in the IPL over the years. He has not, however, been able to duplicate the same results on a global scale. He rarely bowls at an alarmingly quick tempo; instead, he often bowls between 130 and 135 kph. Vinay played in 31 ODIs throughout his brief ODI career, taking 38 wickets. He was struck for 100 runs in 9 overs during a match against Australia in November 2013, and he was never seen playing for India again. Vinay wasn't even given a chance to make any World Cup teams.

6. Ishant Sharma

Ishant Sharma has played test cricket for India for many years, but his ODI performances have not been all that impressive. He has taken 115 wickets in 80 ODIs. Ishant Sharma's failure to control batsmen in the final overs has been an issue. Ishant missed the 2011 World Cup and was unable to compete in the 2015 tournament due to injuries. Ishant has been out of the ODI team for a very long time, and there doesn't seem to be much hope for him to make a comeback.

7. Praveen Kumar

In 68 ODI matches for India, he took 77 wickets at a 5.13 economy rate. Initially chosen for the 2011 World Cup roster, Praveen Kumar was later forced to withdraw owing to an injury. Regrettably, his international career was short-lived after that, and in March 2012, he played his final ODI for India. At the age of 32, Kumar declared his retirement from all gaming formats.

8. Parthiv Patel

Even with players like Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni, and Rahul Dravid in the middle, Patel never received the long rope as the team's proper batsman. He made his debut in 2002 and was selected for the 2003 World Cup, but things changed for him when Rahul Dravid was unexpectedly named the wicketkeeper. He has not ever received the necessary opportunity since 2003. Due to warming the bench in South Africa and MS Dhoni's surprise rise to the top of the international game, Parthiv had little opportunity. Nonetheless, he did participate in 38 ODIs and scored a total of 736 runs, with a high of 95 runs. a true talent who was not given the right opportunity.

9. Axar Patel

Akshar Patel, a left-handed batsman and spin bowler, was a member of the 15-person Indian team at the 11th World Cup in 2015, although he was unable to participate in a single game. From 2014 to 2017, the spinner Akshar Patel participated in 38 games for the ODI team. He has taken 45 wickets in these 38 games. His top bowling score is 3/34. Akshar Patel has 181 runs scored at an average of 12.92, with a 38-run high score. In his ODI career, Akshar Patel has also taken 15 catches.

10. Stuart Binny

During 2014, Stuart Binny participated in 14 ODIs. Binny's highest score was 77 runs, and he has scored 230 runs at an average of 28.75, including 1 fifty. The highest bowling score for Binny is 4/20. Binny has also recorded 20 wickets in his career in ODIs. In conclusion, it can be concluded that a player's inclusion in the starting eleven depends on several factors, including the weather, the playing surface, the opposition team, and the team's needs. Hence, if a player can represent his country, it should be a source of pride for both him and his nation.
