Without a doubt, the Indian Premier League is the most popular and illustrious T20 cricket league in the world. Sport inevitably involves rivalries, and the IPL has elevated animosity between Indian cities to new heights. There are still a few top Indian athletes who have never played in front of their devoted home crowds, even after ten years. Let us look at Indian cricketers who have never represented their home team.

1. Ambati Rayudu

The cricketer entered the IPL in 2010, spent his first eight years playing for the Mumbai Indians, and was later selected by CSK in the 2018 mega-auction. Although Rayudu has played for Baroda, Hyderabad, and Andhra, it can be a little tricky to identify his home team. However, given his Andhra origins, it is safe to predict that he will represent his native side in the IPL.

2. Dinesh Kartik

Karthik is yet to play for his home team in the IPL despite leading Tamil Nadu to a recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy championship. Because the wicket-keeper batsman has always been one of the most formidable prospects available, his IPL career has been full of exciting endeavors, just like his international one. Dinesh Karthik has played for the Gujarat Lions, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab, and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

3. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli has had a passionate affiliation with the RCB even when he was a young player. Virat has overseen the team's leadership since 2013 and has performed quite well. The captain broke all records in 2016, considered his breakout year, including the most centuries and runs scored in a single season. It will be quite difficult to see him play for his team because he and AB de Villiers are the two key players for Bangalore.

4. Harbhajan Singh

The Punjabi man joined MI in 2008 and was the team captain when Mumbai Indians won their first major competition (CLT20 in 2011). The off-spinner has since played a crucial role in MI's string of IPL victories. Harbhajan did start working for CSK in 2018, however, he is now up for selection in the upcoming IPL auctions.

5. Ishant Sharma

Despite playing for 5 clubs during the course of his 10-year IPL career, Ishant Sharma has never donned the Delhi Daredevils uniform. Ishant remained a member of the Hyderabad-based team through 2015. When he teamed up with Dale Steyn, he ran his two most successful campaigns in 2011 and 2013. His performances declined in 2014 and 2015, and Sunrisers fired him as a result. He had two unsuccessful seasons with Rising Pune Supergiants and Kings XI Punjab in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

6. Murali Kartik

Murali Kartik, who was born in Chennai, has astonishingly never played for his city or state in any form of cricket. The left-arm spinner began his career as a junior in the Delhi system and played for Railways for his whole 18-year Ranji Trophy career. Kartik was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders for the 2008 IPL season. He transferred to Pune Warriors India after three years of consistency. In 2013, Royal Challengers Bangalore selected him. Kartik was acquired by Kings XI Punjab in 2014 after a successful season at Bangalore when two terrible games put an end to his stop-start IPL career.

7. Parthiv Patel

In the IPL, Parthiv Patel has played for most teams. In the eleven years of IPL history, he has already represented six teams. Chennai Super Kings acquired the wicket-keeper batsman during the initial 2008 auction. He played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala during the team's sole season after three seasons with them. He joined the Mumbai Indians in 2015, making it five teams in five years. The Gujarati boy missed the chance to play for his native state in the IPL when Gujarat Lions replaced Rajasthan Royals in 2016 and 2017.

8. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas, who graduated from the Bombay school of batting, has always identified as a Delhiite during the IPL season since 2015. He was brought into the Delhi Daredevils team by assistant coach Pravin Amre, who made him the most expensive uncapped player in the 2015 auctions (2.6 crores). Since then, the Mumbai native has developed into an essential part of the Delhi Capitals' team and their fearsome captain. It will be quite difficult to see him play for his home team given how successful his leadership has been.

9. Deepak Chahar

Although he made his debut with Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in 2016, Deepak Chahar did not have many opportunities with them. His luck changed, though, when CSK acquired him in 2018, as he was given more opportunities and even made the Indian team. In 48 games, Chahar has taken 45 wickets with a strike rate of 22.22, and he has even astounded everyone by bowling 5 debut overs.

10. Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya is from Baroda, Gujarat. However. He has never played for his hometown. He was playing for MI since 2016. In the 2020 campaign, he hit the game-winning runs to help MI capture their sixth championship. Despite leaving MI after being acquired by LSG for INR 8.25 Crore, he will still be an important player for the new IPL participant and will be expected to play the twin role of bolstering the middle order while also picking up wickets with his left-arm spin.
