MS Dhoni, the world’s favorite cricketer, is a legend. People all around the globe love him. MS Dhoni has been the most successful captain of the Indian cricket team and has won many important tournaments for us. There are numerous moments on the field when the fans have been in complete awe of the Indian captain.  Let us look at some of the most special MS Dhoni moments:

1. 2011 World Cup Finals

The man of the match, MS Dhoni, helped India lift the world cup after 28 years of struggle. It was under Dhoni’s captaincy that India finally won the world cup defeating Sri Lanka in the finals. Sri Lanka had put up a competitive total on the board and India had lost two of their best batsmen early in the game. Gautam Gambhir pioneered the innings further. After Gambhir’s dismissal, Dhoni came in with his aggressive batting and an unbeaten 91 runs to win the match for India. It was the most historic moment for all Indians.

2. 2007 T20 World Cup Finals

Dhoni became the first and only skipper in the history of international cricket to win all three main ICC trophies when his team won the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Despite getting out for a duck in India's final victory over the hosts England, Dhoni nonetheless made a significant contribution with his invaluable experience in a game complicated by rain, aiding India in a respectable 129-7 defense. In recognition of his outstanding captaincy, he was chosen as both captain and wicketkeeper in the ICC's "Team of the Tournament."

3. 2013 Champions Trophy Finals

4. 2021 Ipl Qualifiers Vs Dc

In the 2021 IPL qualifiers against the Delhi Capitals, MS Dhoni pioneered CSK’s innings to take his team to the finals. In the semi-final match, CSK was in a tough position as the run rate was increasing exponentially. When Dhoni came in to bat, CSK needed 24 from 12 balls. He immediately hit a six and in the final over Moeen Ali got out. Post that, CSK needed 13 from 5 balls and Dhoni hit 3 consecutive boundaries to take CSK to the finals.

5. India Vs Zimbabwe World Cup 2015

This was India's final pool game of the world cup and match 39. Following a Brendon Taylor masterpiece, India, who were chasing 288 after 22.4 overs, were suffering at 92/4. Suresh Raina was already batting at 10*(23) when the Indian captain came to bat, and the two added 196 runs to their partnership to lead India to victory without losing any more wickets. MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina recorded their best-ever partnerships and finished 85*(76) and 110*(104), respectively. The Player of the game was determined to be Raina. This was one of the most iconic partnerships ever.

6. 2016 T20 World Cup Vs Bangladesh

Dhoni led the team brilliantly once more, and there were several Dhoni moments in India's one-run victory over Bangladesh. Bangladesh was chasing 147 runs and needed 11 runs in the final over to win, and Hardik Pandya took three wickets off the last three balls to win India the match. Highlights were Dhoni's incredible stumping to dismiss Sabbir Rahman and his fielding choices, notably his run-out on the final ball.

7. Leading India To No. 1 Test Ranking

Despite having some of the best leaders to ever play the game, none of them had ever accomplished what Dhoni did in 2009. For the first time in their 85-year Test history, he led India to the top spot in the ICC Test world rankings, where they remained for 18 months.

8. Double Century In Test Vs Australia

He was only the fourth captain of India to get a double-hundred in a Test in 2013. His first double century, which he scored against Australia in Chennai and still stands as the best Test score by a wicketkeeper captain, featured 24 fours and six sixes. It was also a crucial inning. When India stood at 406-8 and Australia had played 380 innings, it appeared that they would only gain a marginal advantage. India's first innings advantage of 192 thanks to Dhoni's blitz of 572 helped them secure an eight-wicket victory.

9. 2021 Ipl Winner

In the 2020 IPL, CSK had an unsuccessful run and people criticized the team throughout the tournament. People called the team too experienced and said that there was a lack of new, young players on the team.  However, the same CSK team came back up strong in the 2021 IPL. Dhoni led the team strongly and with his intelligent captaincy, he led the team to another IPL victory.

10. CSK Vs RCB IPL 2018

With two balls remaining, CSK crossed the final line after chasing a challenging 206-run aim. At one point, the team was in trouble at 74 for four, but that was before Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu launched a counterattack of terrifying proportions. Dhoni was in a combative frame of mind as soon as he took guard. Off just his second ball, he made a string of spectacular strokes. His final score was 70 after only 34 deliveries.
