Like any other sport, cricketers also get aggressive while playing on the ground. Showing aggression is another sign of passion and loyalty towards the game. However, some arguments get solved now; some are misunderstandings, while some disputes turn personal. Such rivalries are very common in a sport like a cricket. Further, let us give you brief information on the top 10 rivalries between India and Pakistan Cricket Teams.

1. Shoaib Akhtar-Harbhajan Singh

In a match between the teams in 2010, Harbhajan Singh was batting, and the game was almost about to end. India needed seven runs from 7 balls. After completing the second last over with a dot ball, Akhtar started teasing and pestering the batsman. Harbhajan Singh got angry, and hence, in the previous delivery of the above, the batsman hit a six and won the match. The shot was an answer from Bhajji to Akhtar.

2. Javed Miandad- Kiran More

In a world cup match held between India and Pakistan in 1992, Javed Miandad batted, and Kiran More was the wicketkeeper. Over the last few balls, More was constantly mocking and poking Javed. However, Javed was busy neglecting and focusing on the balls. But somehow, after a few balls, More’s taunts bothered Javed, and so he turned back towards the stumps and started an argument. He also approached the Umpire, complained about Kiran More, and asked him to play the next ball. Soon after the next ball, Javed suddenly went back to the crease and jumped. He jumped significantly on the same spot, which was quite weird. To date, no one has any idea about the strange three jumps of Javed after the minor rivalry.

3. Aamer Sohail- Venkatesh Prasad

In the world cup quarter-final between the teams, Pakistan needed a big score to win the match. Opening batsman Aamir Sohail was batting, and Venkatesh Prasad was bowling. The batsman amazingly smashed back-to-back boundaries on Prasad’s balls. Aamir was so overwhelmed with his performance that he abruptly gestured to the bowler to go and fetch it. The gesture was too inappropriate and disrespectful for Prasad as a bowler. Provoked by the gestures, Prasad had an extreme comeback in the very next delivery and stumped Aamir out.

4. Shahid Afridi -Gautam Gambhir

In the 2007 World Cup match, Shahid Afridi was bowling, and Gautam Gambhir batted. After hitting the ball bowled by Afridi, Gautam ran towards the opposite crease to secure a run. Unknowingly, Afridi ran in the direction of Gautam Gambhir, looking for the ball, and both players clashed with each other, which gave rise to a heated argument. The argument turned out to be physically aggressive, due to which the Umpire had to separate the players. After the match, both had to pay a fine for the same.

5. Kamran Akmal- Ishant Sharma

In a T20 game held in 2010, Ishant Sharma was bowling against Kamran Akmal. The Umpire announced Kamran Akmal out for a no-ball. After reviewing the ball, Akmal got declared not out. On the next ball, Ishant Sharma banged him with his next delivery, and suddenly, both players started a heated argument with each other. By the time the umpires and other players separated them, they were yelling at each other.

6. Majid Khan-Kapil Dev

In 1998, India needed to defend 125 runs from 25 overs during a test match, so Bishan Singh Bedi, the skipper, asked the bowlers to bowl at the defensive line streak. According to Majid, the pace was at a negative line. Kapil Dev approached the bowl, and as usual, he bowled at the leg side. Majid got very angry, and he drew one stump out and placed it where the pacer’s ball would reach.

7. Shoaib Akhtar- Virender Sehwag

In a match between the teams in 2003, the fastest bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, was bowling against the opening batsman Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar. Virender Sehwag batted, and Sachin Tendulkar was standing on the opposite crease. Tactically, Shoaib Akhtar was constantly bowling bouncers to the opening batsman on purpose to force him to play the pull shot. Virender Sehwag was not very comfortable playing play pull shots. After rotating the strike, Virender Sehwag asked Shoaib Akhtar to deliver the same bouncer to Sachin Tendulkar. After bowling, the bouncer, Sachin Tendulkar, smashed a six on his ball, on which Akhtar said to Sehwag, “Baap Baap Hota hai aur beta hota hai.”

8. Kamran Akmal- Gautam Gambhir

During a match in 2010, Kamran Akmal was making an unsuccessful appeal about the team and cricketers in the entire first half. It was somewhere bothering Gautam Gambhir, and hence, he decided to confront Akmal. During the drinks break, Gautam reached Akmal, and instead of clearance, both players began a heated argument. In the meantime, MS Dhoni pulled away Gautam and handled the situation.

9. Shoaib Akhtar- Rahul Dravid

During the first test match of 2006 held between India and Pakistan at Lahore, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag, the opening batsmen, had an excellent start on the pitch. However, to test the batsmen, Shoaib continuously delivered bowls rapidly, forcing the players to play on the back foot. After bowling a few balls, Akhtar started staring at Dravid to react. Without wasting any time, Dravid stared back at the pacer too. And both moved toward each other and began an argument.

10. Inzamam-Ul-Haq – Sreesanth

During the 4th test match held at Multan, Sreesanth was bowling against Inzamam-ul-Haq. He appealed for a leg before wicket in the last bowl, which the Umpire dismissed. The batsman poked Sreesanth after the over. In the next over, Raina delivered with the exact pace against him, and instead of going away from the ball, Inzamam covered the stumps and the fielder to hit the ball. The Indian players complained to the Umpire, and Inzamam was declared out.
