1. New Zealand loses the 2019 World Cup

In the 2019 World cup, despite scoring equal runs in the final over and a Super Over, New Zealand lost the match to England. The choice of the winner was based on the greater number of boundaries scored by the individual team. The number of boundaries scored by England was 26, whereas New Zealand was 17. So New Zealand lost the World Cup to England. In the entire history of cricket, such a situation had never happened before. Thus, it was an unexpected loss of the trophy of New Zealand. The captain of the New Zealand team, Kane Williamson, handled the disappointment with dignity. Williamson was an unsung hero of the Tournament.

2. New Zealand team Helping Injured Batsman in the field at ICC Under 19 World Cup

In the ICC under 19 World Cups, an incident happened due to which a Batsman of the West Indies team was injured. The match was between the West Indies and New Zealand teams. The batsman, Kirk Mckenzie was unable to walk. Then the New Zealand players, Jesse Tashkoff and Joseph Field, carried him outside the field. It was an outstanding show of Sportsmanship by New Zealand towards the West Indies team.

3. New Zealand player Grant Elliot, helped Dale Steyn

In the ICC 2015 semi-finals World cup, New Zealand won the game against the South African team. The South African player Dale Steyn was bowling, and New Zealand player Grant Elliott was the batsman. In the penultimate ball, Grant Elliott hit six. The player, Dale Steyn, was devastated and laid down on the pitch. Looking at this, Elliott gave his arm to pick up the champion bowler. In response to such a generous gesture offered by New Zealand player, Dale Steyn later shared that he hoped that such gestures happen often. It is something that, he would also like to do and expect his team to do. He appreciates good sportsmanship. It was one of his best cricket moments.

4. In the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, the New Zealand team players comforted the disappointed Carlos Brathwaite, player of the West Indies

New Zealand team won the match against West Indies team only by five runs. The West Indies player Carlos Brathwaite was heartbroken and in deep sorrow. The valiant effort taken by him was of no use because they lost the World Cup. Looking at this, Ross Taylor, Kane Williamson, and Jimmy Neesham spent more than a moment talking to Brathwaite as he sank to his knees on the pitch after the cruel defeat. The effort taken by the New Zealand players was appreciated by Carlos Brathwaite. He said that the New Zealand players are the best people in the world. He feels that he is lucky to share the dressing room with them, play against them, and for getting a chance to socialize with them in franchise Tournaments.

5. In 2012 New Zealand left-arm spinner, Daniel Vettori won the ICC Spirit of Cricket award

It was a test match between New Zealand and Zimbabwe, in which Zimbabwe required 64 runs with five wickets to win the test match. The New Zealand Bowler Regis Chakabva threw a spinner to mid-on. Vettori came in the way of Malcolm Waller, at non-striker’s end, to prevent the opposite team from running. There had been a collision accident, which was later gestured by Vettori. Due to his action, he won the ICC Spirit of Cricket award.

6. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson thanked the audience despite losing the match.

In 2019 there was a match between New Zealand and Australia in which the New Zealand team performed poorly, and lost the game to Australia. Then too, the New Zealand captain Kane Williamson thanked and addressed the fans for their constant support at the Melbourne Cricket ground.
