Cricket is a trendy sport in almost every country with millions of followers. Teams assign coaches to assist them in their preparation and development. Every team has one or more coaches who help them with their training, clarify their thinking, find goals for themselves, support them on their learning journey towards those goals and often point out the teams’ difficulties and disadvantages. Coaches play a very critical role in the life of a cricketer and the team’s achievement. Here is the list of the cricketers who are legends in their time and now sharing their techniques and styles with the new or a youth generation by guiding them.

1. Matthew Bell

Matthew David Bell is a former New Zealand International cricketer with a sound Technique, who plays domestic cricket for Wellington. he is a Right-hand batsman and Right-arm break bowler. He debuted in 1998. His best inning came against Pakistan in 2001. He was appointed as the New Sydenham Premium coach for the 2019-2020 Season and is currently the White Ferns assistant coach.

2. John Wright

John Geoffrey Wright is a former International Cricketer and did a captaincy for New Zealand. He made his international debut in 1978 against England. During his career, Wright scores more than 5,000 runs in Tests with 12 Centuries. In 1993 he retired and did coaching for Kent country cricket club from 2000 to 2005. he became the first foreign Indian national cricket team coach, during which time the team improved immensely and won the home test series against Australia. In 2010 he was appointed as a New Zealand coach. He resigned from the role in 2012. In 2013 John wright became a head coach of Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and worked with Mumbai Indians for seven years.

3. Gary Stead

Gary Raymond Stead is a former Cricketer. He is a top-order Right-Handed Batsman and Leg-break bowler, debuted on 11 March 1999 against South Africa and the last test on 26 December 1999 against West Indies. After completing his cricket Career, he took up coaching and became a New Zealand women’s team coach. In 2018 Stead was appointed coach of the New Zealand men’s team.

4. Stephen Fleming

Stephen Paul Fleming is a New Zealand cricket coach and a former International Cricketer who debuted in 1994. He is a top-order left-handed Batsman and became a successful captain in September 2000 with a victory over Zimbabwe. On 26 March 2008, Fleming retired from international cricket and played his first Indian Premier League (IPL) for Chennai Super Kings. After that, he became the team’s coach in 2009. He also signed as a coach for Melbourne Stars of the Big Bash League.

5. Daniel Vettori

Daniel Luca Vettori is a New Zealand cricket Coach and former cricketer who played in all formats. He made his debut in 1996-97 at the age of 18. He was the captain of New Zealand between 2007-2011. He was an all-rounder who bowled slow left-arm orthodox spin. He retired from all formats in the 2015 Cricket World Cup. From 2014-2018 he became the head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore. In 2019 he was appointed as the head coach of the Dublin Chiefs for the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam cricket tournament. Bangladesh Cricket Board appointed him as their spin bowling coach on 27 July 2019. In 2021 Vettori was appointed as head coach of the CPL franchise Barbados Royals.

6. Dean Brownlie

Dean Graham Brownlie is an Australian-born International New Zealand cricketer who plays in all three formats. He is a Right-handed batsman and made his T20 international debut in January 2010. He retired at the end of 2020-2021. Brownlie has played 35 internationals and 14 tests and will step into the role of batting coach for New Zealand.

7. Luke Ronchi

Luke Ronchi is a New Zealand-Australian cricket coach and a former cricketer who represented both the Australia national cricket team and the New Zealand national cricket team in international cricket. He is the only player who played for both Australia and New Zealand. He is a right-handed batsman and debuted in 2008(Australia) and 2013-2015(New Zealand). In 2019 he was appointed as fielding and wicket-keeping coach for New Zealand.

8. Graeme Aldridge

Graeme William Aldridge is a former New Zealand cricketer who is a Right-arm fast- medium Bowler and debuted in 2011 in the T20 format. He didn’t play after 2015. Aldridge is a head coach of U19 Bowling Coach of Northern Districts Cricket. Aldridge was part of the coaching contingent for many years before landing the role of Head Coach of the male performance programme for the first time in the 2020-21 season.

9. Brendon McCullum

Brendon Barrie McCullum is a cricket coach, commentator, and former cricketer of New Zealand, who played all formats, including captain and one of the best Wicket Keeper for New Zealand. He is a right-handed batsman and started his international career in 2004. He retired from all international cricket on 24 February 2016 and all forms of cricket in 2019. In 2019 he was appointed as the head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Primer League. In 2022 he was approached by England to become the coach of the test format team.

10. Jacob Oram

Jacob David Philip Oram is a former New Zealand international cricketer. He debuted in 2001 and played in all formats for ten years. Oram was a left-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler. He was on the Lord's Honours Boards for his Test century against England in 2008. His ongoing injury problems prompted him to retire from Test cricket in 2009. On 13 October 2009, Oram announced his retirement from test cricket. Jacob Oram joins the New Zealand women's team and becomes the bowling coach.
