1. South Africa VS Australia

In 1993 South Africa faced Australian team in a World Series match. It was a bowler dominated match and South Africa won the toss and sent Australian team to bat first. Australian team scored only 172 runs in 50 overs. South Africa couldn’t even come close to the target as they got all out for 69 runs in 28 overs. Paul Reiffel took four wickets for 13 runs.

2. South Africa VS England

In 2008 South Africa toured England for an ODI series. In the second ODI, South Africa won the toss and the captain Graeme Smith elected to bat first. That decision didn’t go as planned as they got all out for 83 runs in 23 overs. Stuart Broad took five wickets for 23 runs.

3. South Africa VS England

This is most recent addition to the list. In July 2022 England faced South Africa at Manchester in the second match of the three match ODI series. South Africa won the toss and elected to field first. Pretorius bowled well and got four wickets. South Africa restricted England to 201 runs. England bowlers gave a comeback and restricted South Africa team to 83 runs.

4. South Africa VS Pakistan

In 2000 Pakistan faced South Africa in Coca-Cola cup at Sharjah. Pakistan team won the toss and elected to bat first. They set a target of 169 and South Africa thought it would be an easy chase. Shoaib Aktar didn’t give up and made a comeback. He got three wickets for nine runs and helped Pakistan to restrict South Africa to 101runs.

5. South Africa VS Australia

South Africa faced Australia in the seven matches VB series in 2002. In the Sydney match, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. But nothing goes as planned as Bichel destroyed their plan and helped Australia restrict South Africa to 106 runs. He took five wickets and Australia chased the target in 18.4 overs.

6. South Africa VS England

In 2003 England faced South Africa in the final of Natwest Series. England won the toss and sent South Africa to bat first. South Africa can’t even reply to England attack and got all out for 107 runs in 32 overs. England comfortably chased the target in 20 overs.

In 2006 ICC Champions Trophy South Africa faced New Zealand. South African captain Graeme Smith won the toss and elected to field first. New Zealand got all out for 195 in 45 overs but South Africa scored only 108 runs and got all out in 34 overs. This is one of the worst innings in South Africa’s history.

In 1999 LG cup India faced South Africa in Nairobi. South African team played another worst innings in their history. Sunil Joshi got his career best bowling figure of five wickets for six runs and bundled South Africa for 117 runs. The left-arm pacer won the Man of the Match for his exceptional spell.

South Africa visited India to play an ODI series and it became a series to forget for South Africa. They lost the series 5-1 and this match is the worst defeat in the series. South Africa batted first and every South African batter got out after a decent start. Chahal picked five wickets and South Africa got all out for 118 runs. India chased the target in 20 overs.

In 2009 England toured South Africa for an ODI series. In the fourth ODI South Africa got all out for 119 runs as Jimmy Anderson took five wickets for 23 runs and bundled South Africa. He destroyed the South African batting and England chased the target easily.
