Scoring a century is not easy work at all. In the entire career, a cricketer looks for an opportunity to score a century, at least in a test match. In tests, a bowler also gets a chance to score a century. We have seen many cricketers who were capable of hitting a century but couldn't make one. Sri Lanka has the most cricketers who were unlucky to score at least one century in their entire career. Here, list of the top ten Sri Lankan cricketers with the most runs in a career without a century.

10. Lasith Malinga

Lasith Malinga is a former right-arm fast bowler and considered one of the best bowlers of white-ball cricket. He is the only cricketer to take four wickets in four consecutive balls twice in international cricket. Malinga has the most hat-tricks in the history of international cricket (5). He scored 978 runs in his career without a century. It brings him into the tenth position on the list.

9. Ravi Ratnayake

Ravi Ratnayake is a former all-rounder with left-handed batting and right-arm medium-fast bowling. He also played as a captain for Sri Lanka in ODIs and took 141 International wickets. Ravi played in 22 tests and 78 ODIs from 1982 to 1990. He makes it into the ninth position with 1,631 runs scored in his career without a century.

8. Farveez Maharoof

Farveez Maharoof is a former all-rounder with right-handed batting and right-arm medium-fast bowling. He made his test debut in May 2004 against Zimbabwe; he played internationally till 2016. After that, he was the captain of the Sri Lankan team in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2004. He scored 1,702 runs in his career but couldn't make a century; it brings him into the eighth position on the list.

7. Rangana Herath

Rangana Herath is a former slow left-arm orthodox bowler and the current spin bowling coach of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. He is the best left-arm bowler in tests and the Dialog Test Bowler of the Year 2015. He is in the seventh position on the list with 1,847 runs scored in a career without a hundred.

6. Nuwan Kulasekara

Nuwan Kulasekara is a former right-arm medium-fast bowler and the only Sri Lankan bowler ranked in the first position of the ICC ODI Bowlers Rankings. He played in all formats of international cricket from 2004 to 2017. Kulasekara is the only bowler to complete a bowling spell with 0.00 economy in a T20I inning. He never scored a century and made 1,933 runs in his career; he makes it into the sixth position.

5. Muttiah Muralitharan

Muttiah Muralitharan is a former right-arm off-break bowler, and is the most successful bowler of all time. He played international cricket from 1992 to 2011. Muralitharan played 133 tests, 350 ODIs and 12 T20Is; he has taken the most wickets in international cricket (1347). He produced 1,936 runs without making a century; it brings him into the fifth position on the list.

4. Chandika Hathurusingha

Chandika Hathurusingha is a former all-rounder with right-handed batting and right-arm medium-fast bowling. He made his international debut in February 1991. It was a test match against New Zealand. Furthermore, he was the head coach of the Bangladesh Cricket Team between 2014 and 2017. He didn't make a century but scored 1,943 international runs, is in the fourth position on the list.

3. Kumar Dharmasena

Kumar Dharmasena is a former all-rounder with right-handed batting and right-arm off-break bowling. He was an essential member of the Sri Lankan squad that won the ICC Cricket World Cup 1996. In 31 tests and 141 ODIs, Kumar took 207 wickets. He is in the third position on the list with 2,090 runs scored without a century.

2. Paul Chandana

Paul Chandana played as an all-rounder for Sri Lanka; he played from 1994 to 2007. He was a right-handed batsman and a prominent right-arm leg-break bowler. Paul made his international debut in April 1994 in a test match against Australia. He holds the highest individual score by a Sri Lankan batsman at the number 9 position (92). Paul made 2,243 runs without making a century and made it into the second position on the list.

1. Chamara Kapugedara

Chamara Kapugedara is a former right-handed middle-order batsman who played internationally from 2006 to 2017. In December 2019, he retired from all formats of international cricket. He didn't make a century but scored 2,745 runs; it brings him into the first position on the list.
