Brian Lara has hit the highest number of half-centuries for the West Indies team in the One Day Internationals. The prince of Port Spain was a part of 295 ODI matches in his career in which he scored 10,348 runs at an average of 40.90. Lara hit 62 half-centuries in his One Day International career.

2. Shivnarine Chanderpaul

The legendary West Indies batter Shivnarine Chanderpaul scored 8778 runs in 268 matches in his One Day International career with an average of 41.60. The southpaw was one of the great batters in the West Indies team in the 2000s. Shiv scored 59 fifties in his One Day International career.

3. Desmond Haynes

Desmond Haynes was a part of 238 ODI matches and scored 8648 runs at an average of 41.37. He was one of the most prominent batters in the West Indies batting line-up in the 1980s. The legendary right-handed batter hit 57 half-centuries in his One Day International career.

4. Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle occupies the fourth spot on this list. The Universe Boss is one of the best opening batters of all time and is one of the big hitters of the ball. He scored 10,425 runs in 298 ODI matches for West Indies at an average of 38.04. Gayle hit 53 fifties in his One Day International career.

6. Richie Richardson

Richie Richardson captained the West Indies side in the early 1990s and has a good record in captaincy. The right-handed batter scored 6248 runs in 224 One Day International matches at an average of 33.40. Richie hit 44 One Day International fifties in his career.

7. Ramnaresh Sarwan

Ramnaresh Sarwan kickstarted his One Day International journey in 2000 and played his last ODI in 2013. He went on to play 181 matches in his One Day International career and scored 5804 runs at an average of 42.67. Sarwan scored 38 One Day International half-centuries in his career.

8. Gordon Greenidge

The legendary batter of the West Indies team began his One Day International career in 1975. Greenidge was a part of 128 One Day International matches for the Caribbean nation and scored 5134 runs at an average of 45.03. The right-handed batter hit 31 half-centuries in his One Day International career.

9. Marlon Samuels

Marlon Samuels is best known for his exceptional performances in the two T20 World Cup finals, in which West Indies won. The batting all-rounder wore West Indies One Day International jersey in 207 matches and scored 5606 runs at an average of 32.97. Samuels has 30 half-centuries in One Day Internationals to his name.
