Since 1975, cricketing fans have witnessed over 15 ICC major cricketing events. With the advent of T20 tournaments, the number of ICC flagship events has also increased. We all know that cricketing teams like Australia, India, and West Indies have tasted the most success in these events, and many players have scored big runs to create a milestone. Zimbabwe cricket has always been considered the underdog of such events, but Zimbabwe never failed to impress cricket fans on many occasions. Scoring a century in an ICC Flagship event is always a dream for any cricket player. Zimbabwean players also scored some crucial centuries during their tenure in ICC tournaments.

1. Dave Houghton

Dave Houghton, the first Zimbabwean cricketer to score a century in an ICC world cup. The 1987 world cup in India witnessed one of the most remarkable centuries scored by a Zimbabwean. Dave Houghton, number three batsman, scored 142 runs with just 137 balls with 13

boundaries and 6 sixes while chasing 243 runs against New Zealand.

2. Andy Flower

Andy Flower is considered one of the greatest legends of Zimbabwean Cricket. It is interesting to note that Andy Flower scored his first world cup century on his debut ODI match in a 1992 World Cup. He scored an unbeaten 115 against Sri Lanka, making him the third batsman to score a world cup century on debut. Andy Flower is the first ever Zimbabwean to be inducted into the ICC hall of fame.

3. Neil Johnson

In the 1999 World Cup, Zimbabwe Cricket started impressing again. In a match against mighty Australia chasing 303 runs, the Zimbabwe opening batsman Neil Johnson scored 132 runs against some of the lethal attacks of Australia. Neil Johnson was impressive by taking two wickets as well in that same game.

4. Craig Wishart

Craig Wishart, a famous middle-order batsman known for his resilience and sturdiness, holds the record for the highest individual score for Zimbabwe Cricket in an ICC tournament. Wishart scored a massive unbeaten 172 against Namibia in the 2003 World Cup.

5. Brendon Taylor

Brendon Taylor is another legend who recently retired from Zimbabwe and has scored some essential knocks for his team in major tournaments. Brandon Taylor served majorly as a wicket-keeper batsman. In the 2015 World Cup in Australia, Taylor retired from ODI cricket after scoring a century. In their final match against India, Brendon Taylor helped Zimbabwe to put up a decent total by scoring 138, making him the highest run scorer for Zimbabwe in that tournament.

6. Alistair Campbell

Before the existence of the ICC Champions Trophy, there was a tournament named ICC knockout out; later, ICC decided to rename the tournament as ICC Champions trophy. During the 1998 Knockout trophy, in the preliminary quarter-finals against New Zealand, the Zimbabwean batsman scored 100 by playing 143 balls with seven boundaries and only one six.

7. V Sibanda

To help teams like Zimbabwe and other developing cricketing countries, ICC arranged a first-class unlimited overs tournament named the Intercontinental cup in 2004 with knockout stages. This tournament helped Zimbabwe to find great talents. One such talent was V Sibanda. He scored a whopping 209 runs against Kenya in the 2009 season.

8. Sean Williams

Sean Williams is one of the present-day talented Zimbabwe cricketers. Sean Williams has a unique record of scoring over 1000 runs with 50 wickets and 50 catches. Sean Williams started his journey by scoring a century in the ICC intercontinental cup. He scored 178 against Ireland during the 2010 season.

9. Craig Ervine

Like Sean Williams, Craig Ervine too found his form in the same ICC event, which helped him to sneak into the regular playing XI of Zimbabwe. Craig Ervine has been a regular starter as one of the promising all-rounders for Zimbabwe. During the 2010 season, he scored 177 against Canada.

10. T Taibu

Taibu was known for his excellent wicket-keeping skills for Zimbabwe Cricket. Taibu was appointed to be one of the youngest captains for Zimbabwe. Taibu also scored his first century in ICC intercontinental cup 2009 against Afghanistan, which helped him t get noticed by cricketing enthusiasts.
