One Day Internationals or ODIs are the oldest and most globally loved format in cricket. Here is a list of a few young ODI players from Zimbabwe. This team has proven itself many times as to why it belongs there.

1. Dion Myers

Dion Nephy Myers, born in March 2002, is a right-hand top-order batter from Zimbabwe. He started his cricketing journey at a very young age of 15 and later on, presented himself as a potential future batter for the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team. He played his 1st One Day International against Bangladesh 2021 at the age of 19.

2. Elton Chigumbura

Elton Chigumbura, born in March 1986, is a brilliant all-rounder from Zimbabwe. He is a right-hand batter and right-arm fast bowler. He is a complete player who offers stability to his National Cricket Team.

With his outstanding performance, he got to captain his side as well. The former captain made his ODI debut in year 2004 against Sri Lanka at the age of 18.

3. Wessly Madhevere

Wessly Nyasha Madhevere, born in September 2000, is another blazing all-rounder from Zimbabwe. He is a right-hand batter and right-arm off spinner, who offers himself as an exceptional talent for his national team.

He played in his first international One-day match in 2020 against Bangladesh at the age of 20. He has been through many ups and downs in his cricketing but like a phoenix bird, he will rise from his downfall and has a long way to go in his cricketing journey and life.

4. Friday Kasteni

Friday Kasteni, born in March 1988 is a talented left-hand top-order batter from Zimbabwe. On his first-class debut, at the age of 16, he scored a century, which brought him under the lime light for the selectors of the National Team.

Later, he made his One Day International debut in year 2007 against Bangladesh at 19. He swings his bat as well as bowls few left arm slower ones. He is also known as a good wicketkeeper, hence a complete player for the team.

5. Charles Coventry

Charles Kevin Coventry, born in March 1983, is a right-hand wicketkeeper batter from Zimbabwe. He was one of the rising stars of Zimbabwe cricket at the age of 15.

Later in year 2003, he made his One Day International debut against England at Bristol at the age of 20. He also holds the record for the most runs in a match (194*) but unfortunately, his team ended losing the match.

6. Alistair Campbell

Alistair Douglas Ross Campbell, born in September 1972, is an opening batter from Zimbabwe. He is a left-hand batter who can also bowl right arm off break.

The star batter of Zimbabwe made his One Day International debut against West Indies in year 1992 at the age of 20 and played most consecutive matches as an ODI player for his team. He was also the former captain National Cricket Team.

7. Richard Ngarava

Richard Ngarava, born in December 1997 is a left-arm fast pacer dwelling from Zimbabwe. He is one of the finest bowlers for the national team and caught all the attention in the Under-19 cup.

The star bowler made his One Day International debut in year against Afghanistan at Harare at the age of 20 in the year 2017. He holds the record for the best figure of 5 wickets in an ODI match in an inning, but ended up on the losing side.

8. Guy Whittall

Guy James Whittall, born in September 1972, is a batting allrounder from Zimbabwe. Alongside his batting, he is excellent in the outfield. For his exceptional fielding, he holds a record for most catches in an inning.

His first-class debut was made at the age of 18. Later he made his One Day International debut at the age of 21 against Sri Lanka in 1993.

Later on, he proved himself as an aggressive middle-order batter for his national team.

9. Regis Chakabva

Regis Wiriranai Chakabva, born in September 1987, is a right-hand wicketkeeper batter from Zimbabwe. He made his One Day International debut at the age of 21 against Kenya in year 2008.

He is an outstanding wicketkeeper with the record for most stumping in an innings. An all-format player who represented himself in all the three- format of the game for his country and continued to play for next 13 years.

10. Tendai Chatara

Tendai Larry Chatara, born on February 28, 1991, is a right-arm fast-medium bowler hailing from Zimbabwe. He is known for his unique bowling style that drew the attention of every selector. He started his journey in the cricketing field in 2009.

He played his 1st One Day International in year 2013 against West Indies at the age of 22. The glorious bowler holds the record for most wickets on a single ground.
