The addition of Lucknow and Ahmadabad will double the joy of this tournament. More matches are going to happen. The BCCI has confirmed that this season is going to be held on India. The Mega auction happened this February. The Indian Premier League is known for batting- friendly. Every season the highest run-getter of a season received a purple cap as a reward.

1. KL Rahul

When we talk about orange caps, KL Rahul's name will definitely come. The former Punjab skipper has come out as the best batsman of the last three seasons. KL Rahul isn't a part of Punjab anymore. He is going to play for another franchise. However, his chances of winning the orange cap are look high once again.

2. Ruturaj Gaikwad

The winner of last season's orange cap, Ruturaj is all set to fire in IPL 2022. The Chennai opener is having a form of his life. He has shown splendid consistency in every tournament he has played. Gaikwad will be willing to score tones of runs again.

3. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer is a star player of the IPL. The right-hand batsman has played all his IPL games for Delhi only. However, he has decided to root for another franchise this year. Shreyas is an excellent top-order batsman. He is one of the contenders in the highest run-scorer race.

4. Shikhar Dhawan

Dhawan is a star player of the Indian cricket team. The left-handed Batsman is famous for giving his best in major tournaments. Dhawan has an excellent last three IPL seasons. However, he always left just behind winning the orange cap. Dhawan can achieve this feat in this season.

5. David Warner

Warner is coming as a giant name in the auction. The star Australian batsman record in IPL is admirable. Warner was a part of Hyderabad for seven years. However, he is set to play for another franchise in the upcoming edition. Warner, once again will try to get an orange cap.

6. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is arguably the greatest batsman in IPL history. He is the leading run-scorer of this tournament with more than 5000 runs. Virat is struggling with his form. However, his class is permanent, and we might see him giving his best in another season.

7. Faf Du Plessis

The former South African captain, Faf has a phenomenal record in the IPL. Last season, He was so close to winning the orange cap. Faf isn't a part of the Chennai franchise as he has been released. However, he still has much cricket left, and he can give his best in the upcoming edition.

8. Johnny Bairstow

Bairstow has been one of the best white-ball players in the last four years. The English batsman can bat any position in the batting order. Bairstow is likely to go for a big amount in the upcoming auction. We might see his best in the next edition of the IPL.

9. Jos Buttler
