The Indian Premier League, commonly known as IPL, is one of the most popular leagues across the globe. It was started in 2008. The IPL has given many stars to the Indian cricket team. Through the years, we have seen some spectacular performances from the players in the IPL. There are many outstanding batting and bowling performances in the IPL. 1. Chris Gayle (175 Runs)

He is a former West Indies player who was a destructive left-handed opener. Gayle is a devil when it comes to batting. He played an amazing knock of 175 runs off 66 deliveries. Gayle made the boundaries and the fielders look ridiculous in the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru because of his monstrous batting. Gayle completed his ton in just 30 deliveries. He made this incredible knock against the Pune Warriors and hit 17 sixes in the innings.

2. Suresh Raina (87 Runs)

He is a former cricketer for India who was a middle-order left-handed batsman. He is nicknamed ‘Mr. IPL’. He played an amazing knock of 87 runs in just 25 deliveries. CSK was chasing a target of 227 runs, and FAF du Plessis (CSK opener) got out on the first ball. CSK was under immense pressure, and Raina delivered a blistering knock. He had a strikeout rate of 348, but in the end, he was run out.

3. Brendon McCullum (158 Runs)

He is a former cricketer from New Zealand who batted as an opener and has also captained the New Zealand Cricket Team in all the formats of the game. He is the current coach of the England cricket team. He smashed 158 runs in 73 deliveries with 10 fours and 13 sixes in the opening game of the IPL. He was unstoppable in that inning against the RCB.

4. David Miller (101 Runs)

He was a former South African cricketer who was a left-handed middle-order batsman. He scored 101 runs in just 38 deliveries against RCB and led Punjab to victory in the Mohali Stadium. He is nicknamed ‘Killer Miller’. Miller is currently playing for the Gujarat Titans in IPL. In his innings of 101 runs, he has hit 8 sixes and 7 boundaries.

5. Yusuf Pathan (100 Runs)

He is a former all-rounder of India who batted in the middle order and bowled off-break. He was known for hitting monstrous sixes all over the ground. In the 2010 IPL, he smashed a hundred in just 37 deliveries against Mumbai. Rajasthan was chasing a target of 213 runs but, in the end, fell short by 4 runs.

6. AB de Villiers (129 Runs)

He is a former South African cricketer who batted in the top order. He was regarded as one of the most ruthless batsmen in the history of cricket. He scored 129 runs against Gujarat Lions in the 2016 IPL and helped RCB achieve a total of 248 runs. He went on to hit 12 home runs in his inning. In that game, he went out to become a nightmare for bowlers.

7. Shane Watson (117 Runs)

Watson was an Australian all-rounder who batted in the top order and bowled right-arm fast-medium. In the 2018 IPL final against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he scored 117 runs and led CSK to its third IPL title. He scored a hat-trick of sixes in the 13th over Siddharth Kaul.

8. Virender Sehwag (122 Runs)

He is a former cricketer from India who batted as an opener. He was an attacking batsman who used to smash bowlers for fun. He scored 122 runs in 58 deliveries against CSK in the first qualifier of the 2014 IPL. He has scored eight sixes and 12 fours. It was one of the most destructive innings in a 20-over game of cricket.

9. Virat Kohli (109 Runs)

He is the star cricketer of India, a right-handed batsman who plays at No. 3. He has captained India in all game formats and is also the former captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was in his best form in the 2016 IPL, where he scored four centuries in total. He scored 109 runs against the Gujarat Lions in the league stage.

10. Andrew Symonds (117 Runs)

He was a former Australian all-rounder who was a right-handed middle-order batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He played for Deccan chargers IPL. He smashed 117 runs in just 53 deliveries with 11 boundaries and seven sixes against the Rajasthan Royals. The Deccan Chargers scored a total of 214 runs in the first innings because of his knock.
