Mumbai Indians are the most successful team in India’s popular cricketing league. Rich personality Mukesh Ambani owns them. Since the start of the Indian Premier League, this franchise comprised big names from different countries. This included Sachin Tendulkar even. Currently, the skipper of the Indian team is the leader of this franchise. The home ground is the iconic Wankhade Stadium.

1. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is the first Mumbaikar on our list. His family could not manage his expenses, so he spent his childhood with his grandparents. He was introduced to a cricketing academy when he was in class six. His coach found his talent and helped him in improving his skills. He later debuted for India in 2007. He also played some crucial innings in the 2007 World Cup in South Africa. But he could perform that well in 50 over format and hence was not included in the 2011 world cup squad. He later proved to be India’s one of the best openers. Recently, he was adjourned as the highest run scorer in the 2019 world cup.

2. Kieron Pollard 

Kieron Pollard is another player from Barbados. He has led his national side for some years. He led his team in white ball format. He played fewer matches in the red ball format but many bilateral series in the white ball format. He is a proper all-rounder who bats and bowls regularly. He plays in the middle order and often finishes the game for his team. He is a brilliant fielder apart from it.

3. Surya Kumar Yadav

Surya is a new sensation in the Indian cricket team. He is an aggressive batter and plays at the 4th/5th position in the batting order. He debuted late for Team India but debuted best. He started his career in style. He is the current rank 1 holder in the ICC rankings in the shortest game format. He participated in the 2022 world cup. Owing to his good performance, he debuted in the rest formats later. But now he is going through a rough patch and not performing well.

4. Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin is the best cricket player in this sport. He is an inspiration for many cricketers. Virat, in an interview, said that because of him, he started playing cricket. He started his cricket career at Shivaji Park, Mumbai. Sachin is a Mumbaikar and had a craze for this sport since childhood. His shots are the most flawless. One of his best shots is a straight drive. He used to hit cover drives flawlessly too. He debuted for Team India at the age of 16. He continued to play for over 20 years, bringing much glory to his country. Many cricketing academies are running under him. His son Arjun recently debuted for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. Sachin was also a good bowler, and he improved this skill over time.

5. Ambati Rayudu

Ambati is considered one of the underrated players of the Indian Cricket team. But unfortunately, he has been ruled out from many important tournaments like the world cup by BCCI. Recently, in 2019 he was not selected for the mega event because he is not a three-dimensional player. He used to play at number 4 for the Indian Cricket team. He improved his skills a lot under MSD. Later he joined the CSK camp after he was released from the MI franchise.

6. Lendl Simmons

Lendl Simmons is another player from Barbados who represented many teams in the Indian Premier League. He has been a key foreign player for the Mumbai franchise. He has been an aggressive batter and a specialized T20 batsman. He has scored many runs while batting top of the order. He is a brilliant fielder in addition. He has greatly helped through his batting skills in the 2016 world cup win.

7. Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan is 24 years old cricket player belonging to Uttar Pradesh. He is a young batsman and also represented the Indian Under 19 team. Recently, he scored 200 in one day match and has been included as a new member in the elite list of the 200’s club. He is the youngest batsman to do so. He is a wicketkeeper in addition. His performance is not up to the mark in the recent season.

8. Quinton De Kock

Quinton is a top-order batsman belonging to Proteas. He is a wicket-keeper batsman who often lays the foundation of the innings. He chases well while chasing and scores well while batting first. He can field if required. In the last 2 consecutive t20 World Cups, he has been a great asset to his team. He has been with Mumbai Indians for a long time, but now he plays for Lucknow Super Giants.

9. Dwayne Smith

Dwayne Smith is a cricketer from Barbados. He plays as an all-rounder in playing eleven. He has played 10 tests, 105 one-day matches, and 33 T20 internationals. He has a batting average of 24, 18, and 18 in respective formats. This included Hong Kong and T20 Blitz. He also represented CSK in the IPL editions.
