Even the greatest batsman in the history of cricket has been dismissed with a duck. These 10 players are exceptional in that case and have no ducks in their career in ICC ODI cricket. Some may say it depends on the luck factor of that player or their bad time to be the field. But these main batsmen had no ducks in their whole ODI career. In that way, they vary specially in the ODI record. Having no ducks in their career can also be said as a great batting skill for those players in the field. It’s just that factors like the presence of mind in the field may avoid the possibility of ducks on a great scale.
1. Kepler Wessels
The player who has topped this list is the former South African batsman KEPLER WESSELS. This was his performance in the ICC ODI cricket from 1983 – to 1994. He was never dismissed in a duck and he has played a total of 105 innings in the ODI cricket. This was the highest any player has ever played, without having a duck.
2. Yashpal Sharma
Coming at no.2 is the former Indian batsman YASHPAL SHARMA. This was during his performance in the ICC ODI cricket from 1978 – to 1985. He played a total of 40 innings in the ODI cricket including the world cup series in the year 1983. He has a total of 883 runs in the ODI cricket and never got out in duck.
3. PN Kirsten
The player at the 3rd spot is the former South African player and batsman PN KIRSTEN. This was in his career performance from the year 1991 – to 1994. He played for 4 years in ODI cricket and a total of 40 innings in his career. In all those 40 innings, he was never dismissed in a duck. He has a total of 1293 runs.
4. Jacques Rudolph
The player at the 4th spot is once again a batsman from South Africa JACQUES RUDOLPH, this as during his performance in the ICC ODI cricket from 2003 – 2006. He played for 3 years in ODI cricket and a total of 39 innings. He has scored a total of 1174 runs in his career and never got dismissed in a duck.
5. Nathan Hauritz
The player coming in at the 5th spot is the former Australian cricketer and all-rounder NATHAN HAURITZ. This was his performance in ODI cricket from the year 2002 – to 2011. He played a total of 32 innings in 58 matches he has played. Since he was a lower middle-order batsman, he only got half of the chances to bat in his ODI matches. He has a total of 336 runs and never had duck wickets.
6. Jack Russell
At the 6th spot is the former player from England cricket team JACK RUSSELL. This was during his performance in the ICC ODI cricket from 1987 – to 1998. He played a total of 31 innings in his 40 matches. He was a middle-order batsman for his team. He has a total of 423 runs in his ODI career and never got out for a duck.
7. Ds De Silva
At the 7th spot is the former Sri Lankan cricketer and batsman DS DE SILVA. This was in his performance in the ICC ODI series from 1975 - to 1985. He played nearly for 10 years in the ODI cricket and was never dismissed for a duck. He has a total of 371 runs in ODI cricket.
8. N Deonarine
At the 8th spot are the former cricketer and all-rounder from the tea West Indies N DEONARINE. This was during his performance in the ICC ODI cricket from 2005 -to 2015. He played for almost 10 years and retired in the early stages. During this period he played a total of 29 innings and was never dismissed for a duck.
9. Rassie Van Der Dussen
In the 9th place is another young player from team South Africa HE VAN DER DUSSEN. This was during his performance in the ICC ODI cricket from 2019 – to today. He played a total of 29 innings in his overall 35 matches till now. He has scored a total of 1365 runs in his ODI career and was never dismissed in duck.
10. Ai Kallicharran
The player at the 10th spot is former West Indies cricketer and batsman AI KALLICHARRAN. This was during his performance in the ICC ODI cricket from 1973 – to 1981. He played a total of 28 innings in his overall 31 matches and was never dismissed in a duck.
