Any skipper can only give his or her team and cricket their best effort. You are a hero when you are triumphant. If you lose, the applause will stop. While captains are applauded when the team succeeds, they are frequently harshly condemned if the team loses or even if there are other problems with the team, such as team composition or off-field decisions. 1. Ricky Ponting (4 Trophies)

One of the most successful captains in the annals of international cricket is Ricky Ponting. Ricky Ponting had a great career as a captain, leading Australia to four ICC Trophy victories. The seven years from 2003 to 2009 saw these four trophy victories. Australia first won back the ICC Cricket World Cup under Ponting in 2003. Under Ponting, Australia won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2006. His total rose to three in 2007 as Australia won the World Cup three times in a row. By leading Australia to another ICC Champions Trophy victory in 2009, Ponting put an end to his ICC trophy-winning streak.

2. Mahendra Singh Dhoni (3 Trophies)

Under his direction, India has captured three ICC trophies. Dhoni's path to becoming an effective captain began in 2007 when he guided India to victory in the first ICC T20 World Cup. Under his direction, India overcame Sri Lanka to win their second ODI World Cup, ending their 28-year World Cup drought. Finally, Dhoni contributed to India's achievement in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. In the final, they overcame England and pulled triumph out of the jaws of loss.

3. Darren Sammy (2 Trophies)

In 2012 and 2016, he guided the West Indies to both of their ICC T20 World Cup victories. After Chris Gayle's contract with the WI Cricket board was not renewed, Sammy took over as West Indies' captain across all formats in 2012. He guided West Indies to their first T20 World Cup victory in the same year. The 2012 ICC T20 World Cup marked a pivotal point in West Indies Cricket history as they won their first World Cup since 1979. Additionally, in 2016, Darren Sammy guided the West Indies to their second T20 World Cup victory.

4. Clive Lloyd (2 Trophies)

West Indies is credited with winning both of its ICC Cricket World Cups under Clive Lloyd's leadership. Between 1974 and 1985, he served as the West Indies team's captain. Under Lloyd, West Indies won the first ICC Cricket World Cup in 1975 as well as the second Cricket World Cup in 1979. He scored the game-winning run of 102 in the 1975 World Cup final. West Indies won because of his knock. On the other hand, his team easily trounced England by 92 runs in the 1979 World Cup final, making it a one-sided contest.

5. Steve Waugh (1 Trophy)

Eoin Morgan, the captain, has changed the way England plays white-ball cricket. After several fruitless efforts, the bold strategy eventually paid off as England went on to win their first World Cup in 50 overs. As a result, Eoin Morgan, the captain, and the batter have recently attained new heights of fame as a person who transformed English cricket. As a captain, he has won 37 out of 64 T20Is, which puts him in second place overall. In 124 ODIs played as captain, he has 74 victories. 7. Michael Clarke (1 Trophy)

They were winning the most test series in a row while the captain was making his debut against England in 1978.  Allan Border captained the Australian cricket team in the 1987 world cup and won it for the team. He led Pakistan to victory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup, the nation's only one-day World Cup victory to date.
