We all know it takes responsibilities, attention, determination, and most importantly, a healthy diet to become a great player. But, our list here has names of some great cricket players who, despite being trolled for their weight, are unique in their field and proved people wrong for commenting about their bodies.

1. Jesse Ryder

He is an opening batsman for the New Zealand cricket team. His name dominates and creates much fear within the rivalry. His batting style made thunderstorms in the field. However, a celebrity player is not unknown to trollers and,  one thing he gets trolled about is his weight. He gets called “too fat to play” when he gets selected.

2. WG Grace

The English player is one of the greatest all-rounders the world has seen. He was a revolutionary cricketer. He had a different view of playing the game. Though a great all-rounder, he was trolled for his weight. He was also called “A batsman of many pounds.”

3. David Boon

David Boon was an incredible Australian player but also remembered for many things. One of them was his mustache, and the other eye-catching feature was the weight centered around his tummy. He was one of the most reliable fielders on the short leg. After years in his career, he made his way to batting and scored 7,422 runs in 107 games.

4. Mike Gatting

He played cricket for England for several years but was remembered forever for his exceptional batting and the few extra pounds he had on him. He was a tremendous player but, he never tried losing weight in his 15-year career. He scored 4,409 runs in 79 test games.

5. Inzaram Ul Haq

The former Pakistani cricket player is also known as the ‘Skipper’ of the team as he used to skip runs due to his lazy running and preferred to play boundary shots. Other teammates also reported that he never worked out at the gym. However, his weight never stopped him from fierceness batting, and hence extra pounds never became an issue for him.

6. Arjun Ranatunga

He is a legendary Sri Lankan cricket player and has also led the team for several years. He made the team aggressive and robust. He had a clever site for the game that the opponents feared the most. He had a heavy body because he liked eating, but this never stopped him from being exceptionally good.

7. Sarfaraz Ahmed

Sarfaraz Ahmed is the only active player on this list. He gets heavily trolled in the champions trophy due to his weight and easily noticeable potbelly. He is a wicket-keeper batsman for the Pakistani cricket team.

8. Ryan Harris

This Australian player was a right-arm fast-medium pacer and earned much Fame in the IPL as an uncapped bowler. He showed many impressive performances, making his name more recognizable in Australian homes. He took 100 wickets in 27 matches in the big bash series. But seeing his poster, he indeed loves food.

9. Merve Hughes

Merve is a former Australian fast bowler. He had a massive body, yet he had a larger-than-life career and an incredible pace bowler. He had a unique and trademarked mustache. He was a right-handed swing bowler. He took 212 wickets in 53 test matches.

10. Kieron Pollard

The West Indies cricket player had put on weight. However, he is much better than the players listed in this category. He is a massive hitter with high strike rates and creates a sense of fear in the rivalry. His bowling has also helped his team get breakthroughs in critical times. The player loves to eat regional food and mostly beacon.
