Cricket requires you to be athletic, fast, and have a strong presence of mind while running between the wickets. Sometimes players are lazy, or there is confusion between the batters leading to run-out. Here is the list of funny run- outs in Cricket.

1. Alastair Cook

During India-England, Test Match in 2012, Kevin Pietersen hit the ball towards the square leg of Virat Kohli. Virat quickly noticed Alastair Cook was already out of his crease as he threw the ball on the stumps. To save him from getting hit, he lifted his bat in the air before grounding it as the ball hit the stumps resulting in getting out.

2. Mohammad Amir

Mohammad Amir hit the ball up in the air to long-on against Devendra Bishoo in the West Indies-Pakistan Test in 2016. He thought the ball went for four, but the fielder was quick to save the boundary and threw the ball towards the bowler’s end. Amir being slow to react and complete the run got run out.

3. Misbah Ul Haq

During the India-Pakistan Test Match in 2011, Misbah Ul Haq played the ball towards point for a single. Karthik quickly collected the ball and threw it towards the bowlers’ end. To save him from getting hit, he jumped in the air before grounding his bat as the ball hit the stumps resulting in getting out.

4. Virender Sehwag

In the 2007 India-Srilanka ODI match, the laziest run-out took place. Virender Sehwag guided the ball towards the third man for a single. Sehwag was lazy to complete the run and didn’t ground his bat Sangakara saw this and was quick to throw the bowl toward the bowler’s end as he got out.

5. Inzamam Ul Haq

In World Cup 1999, during Australia-Pakistan Match, Fleming bowled a Yorkerto Inzamam. He barely managed to play the ball and fell to the ground as he got hurt. The non-striker went for the run as those were the last overs of the match. Fleming quickly collected the ball and ran towards the bowler’s end to

run him out.

6. Allan Donald

During a tense match between Australia and South Africa during the Semi-Final of the 1999 World Cup, a funny run-out took place. Lance Klusener hit the ball towards mid-off and quickly ran for a single. Allan Donald kept looking at the ball until Klusener came to his end as he started running late and got run out.

7. Shane Thomson

During the South Africa-New Zealand Test Match, Shane Thomson played the ball of a spinner towards Silly point for no run. He was out of his crease as Hansie Cronje quickly threw the ball, hitting the stumps and getting him run-out.

8. Matthew Hayden

Matthew Hayden was also involved in a similar run-out during Australia-South Africa Test Match. He hit the ball towards the square leg as there was confusion between the striker and non-striker as both were running toward the bowler’s end. The bowler quickly collected the ball and ran towards the batsman’s end, hitting the stumps to get him out.

9. Azhar Ali

During Australia-Pakistan Test Match, Azhar Ali guided the ball towards the third man. He thought it was a four and started chatting with his teammate. The fielder ran and threw the ball to the wicket-keeper Tim Paine as he hit the bails, running him out.

10. Fakhar Zaman

In an ODI Match between South Africa-Pakistan in 2021, Fakhar Zaman played the ball towards long on for a double. He was running lazy, taking the second run as Quinton de Kock imitated the ball coming towards the bowler, confusing him as he collected it and hit the stumps, running him out.
