In the 1st test match of the India Tour of Sri Lanka from August 2 - 6,1997. In that match, in the 1st innings of Sri Lanka, ST Jayasuriya and RS Mahanama had made a partnership of 576 runs for the 2nd wicket in which ST Jayasuriya scored 340(578), and R Mahanama scored 225(561).
