The T20, as a format is usually is too short to make big scores. Yet there have been multiple special instances of batsmen scoring huge in T20 Internationals. We will now have a look at the top 10 individual scores in T20Is.

1. Aaron Finch (2018)
Australia’s innings in this match against Zimbabwe was a peculiar one. The openers stayed till the final over where both of them got out. Aaron Finch scored his second 150+ score and broke his own record of highest individual T20I score. His knock and the opening partnership of 223 ensured Zimbabwe reached nowhere near the total.

2. Hazratullah Zazai (2019)
This was the second match in the three-match series between Afghanistan and Ireland. Afghanistan had a 1-0 lead coming into this match. Zazai managed to score the third 150+ score in T20Is with both the previous ones being scored by Aaron Finch. Zazai’s knock powered Afghanistan to 278 which is the highest team score in T20Is till date. Afghanistan won the match and hence the series.

3. Aaron Finch (2013)
Aaron Finch had a knack of making big scores in T20Is despite being a bit underwhelming in franchise leagues, especially the IPL. This was the first match of the two-match T20I series between Australia and England. Finch was relentlessly striking the ball and managed to score the first 150+ score in T20I. Therefore, this also became the highest individual T20I score then. The record later broken by himself nearly 5 years later.

4. Glenn Maxwell (2016)
Glenn Maxwell had a big day this match. Unlike his usual middle order exploits, he opened the batting. The move worked as he scored a 65-ball 145 to make Australia reach 263 which was then the highest T20I score and the joint highest T20 score by any team. Sri Lanka failed to chase this one and Australia won the match by a huge margin of 85 runs.

This one is a relatively recent match. This happened in June 2022. The match was between Hungary and Austria and the Hungary batsman Zeeshan Kukikhel’s century ensured they chased the 197-run target set by Austria, comfortably.

6. Max O’Dowd (2021)
This match was in another triangular series involving Netherlands. This was a match between Netherlands and Malaysia. Netherlands batsman Ma O’Dowd posted up a huge century and Netherlands went on to win the match by 15 runs.

7. George Munsey (2019)
This Scotland vs Netherlands match was a part of a triangular series in Ireland. Scotland batted first and racked up a massive 252 thanks to a 56-ball 127 by George Munsey and enough support in the other end by the captain Kyle Coetzer. They won the match by 58 runs.
