10. Javed Miandad (1987)

This was the final game of the five-match series on the Pakistan tour of England, with Pakistan leading the series 1-0. In this game, Pakistan batted first. They made a massive total of 708, due to Javed Miandad’s huge double hundred. Pakistan then, later on bowled them out for 232, but couldn’t bowl them out again, and hence, the match got drawn. Javed Miandad scored 260 runs in this innings.

9. Frank Worrell (1950)

Frank Worrell was an eminent player from the West Indies. He was their first black cricketer, to captain an entire series. He was a terrific batsman too. In a series from the West Indies tour of England, during the early stages of his career, he made a mark. This match had West Indies bowling first, and bowling out England for 223. In response, West Indies amassed 558, thanks to a massive double hundred from Frank Worrell. Eventually, West Indies won the match by ten wickets. Frank Worrell scored 261 runs in this innings.

8. Bill Ponsford (1934)

This game was the fifth test of the Australia tour of England. Australia batted first, and scored 701, thanks to a double hundred by Bill Ponsford. The total proved to be too massive for England, as they ended up losing the game by 562 runs. Bill Ponsford scored 266 runs in this innings.

7. Zaheer Abbas (1971)

This game was the first test of the Pakistan tour of England. Pakistan batted first, and scored 608, thanks to a double hundred by Zaheer Abbas. England had to play catch-up for the remainder of the test, as the game got to a draw. Zaheer Abbas scored 274 runs in this innings.

6. Graeme Smith (2003)

This game was the first test of the South Africa tour of England. South Africa batted first, and scored 594, thanks to a double hundred by Graeme Smith. England had to play catch-up for the remainder of the test, as the game got drawn. Graeme Smith scored 277 runs in this innings.

5. Viv Richards (1976)

Vivian Richards was known as one of the most destructive batsmen, of his time. In this game, West Indies batted first, and Richards scored almost a triple hundred, in a rapid strike rate of 75. West Indies ended up with 687, and eventually won by 231 runs. Vivian Richards scored 291 runs in this innings.

4. Don Bradman (1934)

This game had England bat first, and score 200. Australia then set out to bat, and was at 39-3. From there, the batsmen, Bill Ponsford, and Don Bradman, had a partnership of 388 runs, which set things right, for Australia. The game was a draw. Don Bradman scored 304 runs in this innings.

3. Bob Simpson (1964)

This game happened on a very flat track. Both Australia, and England scored more than 600, in their first innings, and the play ended after two overs from the third innings. Australia batted first, and scored 654, on the back of, Bob Simpson’s triple century. Bob Simpson scored 311 runs in this innings.

2. Hashim Amla (2012)

South Africa bowled first, in this game against England. They conceded a significantly big total of 385. However, what followed was absolute carnage by the South African batsmen. South Africa lost just two wickets, with three batsmen scoring centuries. Hashim Amla had a partnership of 259 runs for the second wicket, with Graeme Smith, and then, an unbeaten partnership of 377 runs with Jacques Kallis. South Africa won the match by an innings and 12 runs. Hashim Amla scored 311 not out in this innings.

1. Don Bradman (1930)

The world record for the highest individual score was 325, which was made just three months before this game. Don Bradman broke the record, when Australia batted first, enabling them to score 566, with his triple century. Australia ended up having a good lead, and enforced follow-on, yet the game got drawn. Don Bradman scored 334 runs in this innings.
