Six teams play PSL and Islamabad United is one of these teams. It is a franchise team held by Leonine Global Investments via its sports entity Leonine Global Sports, owned by Amna Naqvi and Ali Naqvi. The team was founded in 2015, and its home ground is Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Islamabad United is one of the most successful teams in PSL and has won two PSL titles to date. They won the first PSL championship, beating Quetta Gladiators in the final, and their second title in the third season of the PSL after beating Peshawar Zalmi in the finale by three wickets.
