Cricket is a game of stats and records. Players are known for the records that they make. Be it scoring a century or hitting numerous sixes, everything counts. One such occasion is when a cricketer scores a century. It becomes even more special when a cricketer does it at a young age. ODIs are the most widely known format of the sport, and when a young player hits a century in an ODI game, he registers his name in the century record book for a long time. A young player hitting a century in ODI is a treat to watch for a cricket fan.

1. S Afridi

Sahibzada Mohammad Shahid Khan Afridi is the youngest player to hit a century in ODI cricket. He played as an allrounder in the Pakistan Cricket Team and is the best that the cricket world has ever seen.  On 4 October 1996, he made the youngest ODI century at 16 years 217 days of age. The game was played at Nairobi(Gym) ground against Sri Lanka.

2. U Ghani

Usman Ghani is the opening batsman in Afghanistan Cricket Team who started his cricket career at a very young age. He is the second-youngest cricketer to hit an ODI century. Usman scored 118 runs on the Bulawayo ground on 20 July 2014 against Zimbabwe. He initially played in the Under-19 Afghanistan Cricket Team.

3. I Nazir

It will be a devaluation of Imran's skills to label him as a gifted player. His mastery in cricket is a pure example of his capabilities as a cricketer. Imran was 18 years 121 days old when he hit the third-youngest ODI century in cricket's history. He made 105* runs in the match facing Zimbabwe on the St George ground. The game was held on 15 April 2000.

4. S Elahi

Saleem Elahi made the fourth-youngest ODI century in his debut match against Srilanka. He played in the Pakistan cricket team as an opening batsman. On 29 September 1995, he made 102* runs in his first-ever ODI. The venue for the match was Gujranwala stadium. Saleem played his last ODI match in 2004 against New Zealand.

5. Tamim Iqbal Khan

Tamim Iqbal Khan is arguably the toughest hitter in Bangladesh cricket. He is an opening batsman who is also the younger brother of  Nafis Iqbal Khan. Tamim played his first ODI on 09 February 2007 against Zimbabwe and made the record for the fifth-youngest ODI on 22 March 2008. He was 19 years two days old when he played this match facing Ireland in Dhaka.

6. Rahmanullah Gurbaz 

Rahmanullah Gurbaz is the sixth-youngest player to hit a hundred in ODI cricket at 19 years 54 days of age. He plays in the Afghanistan cricket team as a wicketkeeper batter. Gurbaz made his ODI record on 21 January 2021 in his recent ODI against Ireland, in which he made 127 runs. The venue for the match was the Abu Dhabi cricket ground. It was also his first appearance in ODI cricket.

7. Ahmed Shehzad 

Ahmed Shehzad made his first-class debut in 2007 and made his ODI appearance on 24 April 2009. He holds the record for the sixth-youngest ODI century in cricket's history. Shehzad was 19 years 72 days old when he made this record. The match was played on 3 February 2011 on the Hamilton ground, in which he made 115 runs against New Zealand.

8. Umar Akmal 

Umar Akmal made the record for the eighth-youngest ODI century when he played his third ODI game. Playing in the Pakistan cricket team as a middle-order batsman, he made this record on 7 August 2009. The opponent team was Srilanka, and the venue for the match was Colombo. Umar made 102* runs in this match.

9. Shakib Al Hasan 

Shakib Al Hasan is an allrounder in the Bangladesh cricket team. Known for his accuracy and consistency, Shakib holds the record for the ninth-youngest ODI century. Following his outstanding performance in the game, he was given the team's captaincy in 2009. The player made this ODI record on 28 February 2007 when he was 19 years 341 days old. The opponent team was Canada, and the venue for the match was St John's ground.

10. Mohammad Anamul Haque Bijoy 

Mohammad Anamul Haque Bijoy is the last player in the list of the Top 10 youngest ODI century-makers. He is a former wicketkeeper batter in the Bangladesh cricket team who made his ODI appearance in 2012. Anamul was 19 years 352 days old when he made this ODI record of hitting 120 runs against West Indies at Khulna. The match was played on 2 December 2012.
