Twenty overs cricket has become one of the popular formats in the various present-day cricketing competitions. Scoring a century in a T20 format is a massive achievement to complete. As of now, there are only a few players who have completed this achievement. With the 2022 T20 world cup at the bay, we can expect more centuries in the near future.

1. Chris Gayle 

Chris Gayle who is popularly known as the 'six hitting machine' scored the first T20 world cup century. He is also the only player to score two T20 world cup centuries. In the very first season of the ICC t20 world cup which took place in 2007, Gayle scored 117 runs in just 57 balls with a strike rate of whooping 207. He scored 7 boundaries and 10 sixes in that match. In the 2016 season of the T20 world cup which took place in India. Gayle scored yet another century against England, he scored 100 runs off 48 balls.

2. Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina is the only Indian player to score a T20 world cup century. He was also the first Indian player to score centuries in all the formats. Suresh Raina, a number three batsman, scored a vital 101 runs in just 60 balls against the South African side which helped the Indian team to win that match.

3. Mahela Jayawardene

Mahela Jayawardene, one of the successful captains of Sri Lanka, holds the record for scoring a century in a T20 world cup. In the 2010 T20 world cup he passed 100 against the Zimbabwean side. In that match, Mahela came as an opener which helped him to achieve.

4. Brendon Mccullum

The one batsman who is known for his fierce and courageous nature is New Zealand's, Brendon McCullum. In a 2012 world cup that took place in Sri Lanka & Bangladesh,  McCullum scored a blistering 123 off just 58 deliveries.

5. Alex Hales

The underrated opener of English cricket, who is known for his quick and attacking style also scored a top-notch century in the T20 world cup. In the 2014 season, he scored 116 runs helping his side to successfully chase a massive 190 runs against Sri Lanka.

6. Ahmed Shehzad

Ahmed Shehzad could have been one of the successful openers for Pakistani cricket. His free-flowing batting technique and class shots were the keys to his development. Shehzad became the first Pakistani cricketer to score a T20 world cup century by scoring 111 runs against the Bangladesh team.

7. Tamim Iqbal

In the 2016 season of the world cup, runs were flowing across the tournament. Bangladesh cricket also had its best form during this year. The veteran Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal scored his only century in this major event. He scored 103 runs taking just 63 balls against Oman.

8. Jos Butler

After the retirement of the legend AB Devilliers, the one player who has taken the title of the 360-degree player is Jos Butler. Butler became the second English cricketer to score a T20 world cup century. This came against Sri Lanka in the previous 2021 T20 world cup. He scored unbeaten 101 runs in just 67 balls with 6 boundaries and 6 sixes.

9. Muhammad Waseem

Muhammad Waseem a UAE player scored an important century in the final of the T20 World Cup Qualifier 2022 to help the team qualify for the better challenge against strong teams. Waseem scored 112 runs taking just 66 balls to help reach the target of 160 put up by Ireland.

10. Matthew Spoors

Matthew Spoors, a Canadian cricketer scored a century in his first debut match. In a global T20 world cup qualifier, Spoors scored an unbeaten 108 runs against the Philippines side.
