Test cricket is considered the toughest format in Cricket tournaments. Achieving milestones in test cricket is not easy and it is evident that most cricketers fail in becoming successful in this format. Let us look at some of the Indian cricketers who scored double centuries in overseas conditions, which is pretty difficult to complete. There are only a few Indian batsmen who achieved this, especially in SENA countries.

1. Sunil Gavaskar

One of the greatest legends Indian Cricket has ever seen is Sunil Gavaskar.  Gavaskar has scored over 10000 runs in tests. In a test match against West Indies in Port of Spain,  Gavaskar scored 220 runs against some lethal fast West Indian bowlers.

2. Ravi Shastri

The former director and coach of Indian Cricket have achieved great milestones in his playing career. He is known for his courageous and fearless cricket. Ravi Shastri scored 206 runs in Sydney against Australia in the 1992 series which showcased his batting brilliance.

3. Navjot Sidhu

Navjot Sidhu who is popularly known as 'Sixer Sidhu' also scored one of the greatest double centuries in Port of Spain, West Indies. Although, in this instance Sidhu scored one of the slowest double centuries, scoring 201 against the most dangerous Indies bowling attack by facing 491 balls.

4. Dilip Sardesai

The first goal born Indian cricketer who did wonders for Indian cricket. He is also the father of famous journalist Rajdeep Sardesai. His achievement of scoring an overseas double century came against West Indies in Sabina Park, Kingston scoring 212 runs during the 1971 series.

5. Sanjay Manjrekar

The famous commentator Sanjay Manjrekar also had one of the greatest purple patches in his short career. He also scored an overseas century which came against the all-time rivals Pakistan, when India toured Pakistan in 1989/90. In Lahore, Majrekar scored an excellent 218 but was unfortunate to get run out to end his memorable innings.

6. Wasim Jaffer

The present-day Twitter champion Wasim Jaffer was one of the reliable openers at some point in time.  He had some memorable moments for Indian Cricket and one of them was when he scored 212 runs against West Indies in Antigua which equaled the record for second highest by an Indian batsman in the Caribbean.

7. Virender Sehwag

The most ferocious opener batsman for Indian Cricket was Virender Sehwag. It is evident that Sehwag tasted his most success against Pakistan and one of his best innings also came in Multan when he scored 309 runs in just 375 balls and eventually got the title 'Multan ka Sultan.

8. Sachin Tendulkar

The master of cricket was not behind in scoring double centuries in test cricket. He has scored massive 15,921 test runs and scored 6 test double centuries. One of the prominent ones came in Sydney against Australia. His unbeaten 241 runs were a special one and also hold an absurd record because Tendulkar did not hit not even a single cover drive in the whole innings.

9. Rahul Dravid

While talking about the greatest test double centuries for India, it is pretty impossible to not mention Rahul Dravid in the list. Rahul Dravid has scored 5 double centuries in his whole test career and he has scored two prominent overseas double centuries. One came against England at the Oval and another came at Adelaide, Australia. He scored 217 against England and a classy 233 against Australia.

10. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is the only present-day Indian batsman who has scored double centuries outside India. Virat Kohli also holds the record for the first double century ever scored by an Indian captain on foreign soil. In the 2016 tour of the West Indies, he scored 200 runs at Antigua which also created a huge partnership in that match.
