1. Maharashtra-born

Sharma was born on April 30, 1987, in Bansod, Maharashtra. Purnima Sharma, his mother, is from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Gurunath Sharma's father worked as a caretaker at a transport firm's warehouse.

2. Domestic Debut

In March 2005, Sharma made his List A debut for West Zone versus Central Zone in the Deodhar Trophy at Gwalior. He scored 31* while batting at number eight. In July 2006, Sharma made his first-class debut for India A against New Zealand A in Darwin. He hit 57 and 22 as India won by three wickets. In the 2006-07 Ranji Trophy season, he made his Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai, scoring 205 off 267 balls against Gujarat.

Rohit Sharma has a first-class average of 53.80, with 27 hundred and 36 half-centuries to his name. 4. Jersey Number

Rohit Sharma attributed his jersey number to his mother, saying, "Why am I 45? It's only that the number appeals to my mum. Sharma made his debut at the 2015 World Cup, appearing in eight matches for India. India advanced to the semi-finals before being eliminated by Australia. Sharma finished the event with 330 runs. Sharma was named India's vice-captain for the 2019 World Cup in England. He became the first batsman in World Cup history to hit five hundred in a single tournament, and he tied Tendulkar's record of six centuries in all World Cup matches.

9. IPL Auction

Rohit Sharma was in the 2008 auction when he was picked up by Deccan Charges for 30 lakhs, he played three seasons for DC before being in the 2011 auction when he was picked up by Mumbai Indians for 90 lakhs and has been playing for them ever since, he has made 178 crores in total from IPL.

Having an IPL Hatrick scoring a century to winning it five times as a captain to six times as a player, he has scored 42 half-centuries at an average of 29.58, he has scored 6211 runs in 243 matches, his highest score is 109* in IPL.
