Kane Williamson, a New Zealand cricketing legend, has built a distinct career in the sport with his flawless talents, incredible temperament, and unrelenting determination. 1. Born

Williamson was born in Tauranga, New Zealand on August 8, 1990. His father, Brett, was a sales professional who had previously played under-17 and club cricket in New Zealand, while his mother, Sandra, had previously played representative basketball.

2. Twin Brother

Williamson has a twin brother Logan. Kane is a few minutes older and according to their parents, the twins have always shared a great bond. Williamson has three older sisters.

3. Under-19 world cup

Kane Williamson was only 17 years old when he guided New Zealand's Under-19 team to victory in the 2008 World Cup in Malaysia. He guided the team to the semi-finals when they were defeated by Virat Kohli's India, who went on to win the championship.

5. Philanthropy

Williamson's compassion and knowledge extend beyond the field. In 2014, a horrific terror assault on a school in Peshawar killed 141 people, 132 of whom were children. Williamson, who had just returned from a five-match ODI series against Pakistan, gave every dollar of his match costs to the victims' families.

6. Interntional Debut

On August 10, 2010, Williamson made his One-Day International debut against India. He got ejected for a 9th-ball duck. Angelo Mathews bowled him for a second ball duck in his second match. Williamson made his Test debut against India on November 4, 2010, at Ahmedabad. He made 131 runs off 299 balls in his first innings, becoming the eighth New Zealand player to make a century on Test debut.

8. New Zealand Captain

Kane Williamson is the most successful test captain as he has just lost ten matches out of 40 games, he has captained for them. Kane Williamson led his side to the WTC win and was the first captain to win the World Test Championship maze, he played a captain's knock as he scored half-centuries in each inning. Kane has 50.61%-win percent in ODIs, which is slightly better in T20i as he has 51.56%-win percent.

9. New Zealand player

He debuted for his national side in 2010 and playing international cricket since then he has played 342 matches for New Zealand and has scored over 17k runs with an average of 47.74. He has scored 41 centuries and 92 half-centuries, with 28 of them coming in tests and the rest 13 coming in ODIs. He has also taken 73 wickets and 187 catches in his career.

10. IPL

Kane Williamson was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015 but did not play much, he won the IPL in his second season with SRH, when David Warner was the captain. He was made the captain in 2018 when Warner was banned from cricket. Before the 2023 edition he was released by SRH and was bought by Gujarat Titans but could not play for them as he got injured in the first match. He has scored 2101 runs in 77 matches at an average of 36.22.
