Devon Conway is a South Africa-born cricketer who later migrated to New Zealand. He represents the Kiwis in all three formats of the game. Since his international debut in 2021, he has been an integral part of the New Zealand batting setup. In the sixteen test matches he has played, he has scored well above 1,000 runs. 1. 61 Vs England

Devon Conway scored a very important half-century in the second innings of the second test match of England’s tour of New Zealand at Wellington on February, 2023. The hosts were forced to follow on in their second innings and their two openers gave them a pretty good start. Conway faced 155 balls and scored 61 valuable runs, hitting six fours and a six. The match ended in a nail-biting finish with the hosts winning the game by just a single run.

2. 77 Vs England

In the first test of the same series, Conway scored an important 77 runs in the first innings at the Bay Oval, in a match where most of the other batters failed miserably. His knock came in 151 balls, with the left-hander hitting 7 fours and a six. He struck at a rate of just above 50 and helped the Kiwis cross the 300-mark in their first innings. However, a disastrous second innings from New Zealand helped the visitors claim the match by a huge margin of 267 runs.

3. 78 Vs Srilanka

In the second test match of the series against Srilanka at the Basin Reserve in 2023, the New Zealand batters completely dominated the innings. Devon Conway gave them a good start as he scored 78 runs off just 108 balls, hitting the ball to the rope 13 times. He had a strike-rate of over 70 before being dismissed by de Silva. The hosts won the match comprehensively by an innings and 58 runs, thanks to their all-round performance.

4. 80 Vs England

After scoring a double-century on his debut in the first test at Lord’s, Conway carried on his brilliant form in the second test as well in Edgbaston in June,2021. He scored a brilliant knock of 80 in 143 balls, hitting 12 boundaries in his innings. His superb knock helped the Kiwis establish a first-innings lead in the match and eventually they won the match by 8 wickets.

5. 92 Vs Pakistan

Devon Conway played yet another outstanding innings, this time against Pakistan at Karachi in late 2022. He was in top form throughout the match but unfortunately he was dismissed by Noman Ali, just 8 runs short of his three-figure mark. He faced 176 balls in his innings, hit 14 boundaries and had a strike-rate of over 50. Both the teams batted equally well in the match and hence, it ended in a draw.

6. 92 Vs South Africa

Another instance where the left-hander came very close to his three-figure mark yet missed it by a very small margin was against the Proteas in February,2022 when the two teams locked horns in the second test of the series at Hagley Oval. His fine knock of 92 runs came in the fourth innings of the match where he was the lone warrior for his team. He faced 188 balls and hit 13 boundaries in this innings. However, his knock could not prevent his team from avoiding defeat as they lost the match by 198 runs.

7. 109 Vs Bangladesh

Conway’s third test century came against Bangladesh in the second test of the series in 2022 at the Hagley Oval. Coming out to bat at no. 3, he scored a fine knock of 109 runs in 166 balls before being ran out. His innings comprised a dozen boundaries and a six as well. The Kiwis dominated the match completely and won it by an innings and 117 runs.

8. 122 Vs Pakistan

After missing out on his hundred by a whisker in the first test of the series against Pakistan, Devon Conway played another stunning knock in the second test at the same venue in January, 2023. This time, however, he did reach his three-figure mark, his fourth in test cricket. He faced 191 balls, hit 16 fours and a six to reach this milestone and had a strike-rate of over 60. The match ended in a draw.

9. 122 Vs Bangladesh

Devon Conway was in sublime form in the first match of Bangladesh’s tour of New Zealand in 2022. Coming out to bat first at the Bay Oval, he played a fine innings of 122 runs, facing 227 balls and hitting 16 fours and a six. His strike-rate was well above 50. However, Bangladesh’s strong reply in their first innings and a Kiwi batting collapse in the second innings helped the visitors win the match by 8 wickets.

10. 200 Vs England

Devon Conway created history at the home of cricket, the Lord’s by scoring a double-century on his test debut, becoming the second New Zealander to do so. This innings came against England in June,2021 in the first innings of the first test of the series. Conway faced 347 balls, hitting 22 boundaries and a huge six to reach this milestone. However, on reaching 200, he was ran out and thus ended the New Zealand innings. The match eventually ended in a draw and Conway was awarded the Man of the Match award for his stunning display.
