Pakistan played its first test match against India in 1952. There is no suspicion that Pakistan has some of the greatest bowlers who have shown their potential on certain occasions in Test Cricket. Some Pakistan players have the best bowling averages in test cricket. They continue to hold some of the unbreakable bowling records. Bowling average is the ratio of the number of runs given by the bowler to the aggregate of wickets taken by him. The less the bowling average, the good the bowler is. It is usually used besides the economy and strike rate and is an important statistic that shows the bowler’s ability.

1. Imran Khan Niazi 

Imran Khan Niazi is a former right-arm fast allrounder and a world cup-winning captain of Pakistan. He made his test appearance against England at Birmingham on 3 June 1971, and his last game was against Sri Lanka at Faisalabad on 2 January 1992. Imran played 88 games and took 362 wickets with an average of 22.81 and an economy of 2.54. He took 23 five-wicket hauls and six ten-wicket hauls.

2. Waqar Younis Maitla 

Waqar Younis Maitla is a former right-arm fast bowler who made his test debut against India at Karachi on 15 November 1989, and his last match was against South Africa at Cape Town on 2 January 2003. He is the 2nd fastest bowler to take 150 wickets, 4th fastest bowler to take 200 wickets, and the 5th fastest bowler to take 250 wickets. Waqar played 88 games and took 373 wickets with an average of 23.56 and an economy of 3.25 with 22 5-wicket hauls and five ten-wicket hauls.

3. Wasim Akram 

Wasim Akram is a former left-arm fast bowler from Pakistan. He made his test premier facing New Zealand at Auckland on 25 January 1985 and his last match against Bangladesh at Dhaka on 9 January 2002. Wasim played 104 tests and took 414 wickets with a bowling average of 23.62. His economy was 2.59 with 25 5-wicket hauls and five 10-wicket hauls.

4. Fazal Mahmood 

Fazal Mahmood was a former right-arm fast-medium bowler who made his test debut against India at Delhi on 16 October 1952 and his last match on 16 August 1962 against England at The Oval. Fazal played 34 games and took 139 wickets with an average of 24.70 and an economy of 2.09 with 13 five-wicket hauls and four ten-wicket hauls.

5. Shoaib Akhtar

Shoaib Akhtar is a former right-arm fast bowler from Pakistan who made his test debut against West Indies at Rawalpindi on 29 November 1997 and his last match on 8 December 2007 against India. Known as The Rawalpindi Express, he bowled the fastest ball in cricket history which, is 161.3 km/hr. Shoaib played 46 games and took 178 wickets with an average of 25.69 and an economy of 3.37 with 12 5-wicket hauls and two 10-wicket hauls.

6. Saeed Ajmal 

Saeed Ajmal is a former right-arm off-break bowler who made his test debut against Sri Lanka at Galle on 4 July 2009 and his last match on 14 August 2014 against Sri Lanka at Colombo. Ajmal played 35 games and took 178 wickets with an average of 28.10 and an economy of 2.58 with ten 5-wicket hauls and four 10-wicket hauls.

7. Mohammad Iqbal Qasim 

Mohammad Iqbal Qasim is a former slow left-arm orthodox bowler who played his first test match against Australia at Adelaide on 24 December 1976 and his last test on 7 October 1988 against Australia at Lahore. Iqbal played 50 games and took 171 wickets with an average of 28.11 and an economy of 2.21 with eight 5-wicket hauls and two 10-wicket hauls.

8. Asif Iqbal Razvi

Asif Iqbal Razvi is a former right-arm fast-medium bowler who made his test debut against Australia at Karachi on 24 October 1964 and his last match against India at Kolkata on 29 January 1980. Asif played 58 games and took 53 wickets with an average of 28.33 and an economy of 2.33 with two 5-wicket hauls.

9. Mushtaq Mohammad 

Mushtaq Mohammad is a former Leg-break googly bowler from Pakistan who made his test debut against West Indies at Lahore on 26 March 1959 and his last match against Australia at Perth on 24 March 1979. Mushtaq played 57 games and took 79 wickets with an average of 29.22 and an economy of 2.63 with three 5-wicket hauls.

10. Saqlain Mushtaq 

Saqlain Mushtaq is a former right-arm off-break bowler who made his test debut against Sri Lanka at Peshawar on 8 September 1995 and his last match against India at Multan on 28 March 2004. Saqlain played 49 games and took 208 wickets with an average of 29.83 and an economy of 2.64 with 13 5-wicket hauls and three 10-wicket hauls.
