South African women’s cricket team made its Test debut in 1960 against England, becoming the fourth team to play at that level. Many great players carried the team till now with a lot of passion for the game. Some of the Top 10 recent women Test players for South Africa are here.

1. Johmari Logtenberg

The former South African cricketer, Johmari Logtenberg, was born on 22 February 1989. She was a right-handed batter. She scored 74 runs on her Test debut and became the youngest player to achieve a half-century in international cricket. She made her Test debut for South Africa at age 14, becoming the second youngest Test player to join the team.

2. Mignon du Preez

Mignon du Preez, born 13 June 1989, is a former South African cricketer. She was the women’s team captain in all three forms of cricket, Test matches, ODIs, and T20Is, from 2007 to 2018. She was a right-handed batter and also a wicket-keeper. She made her Test debut on 16 November 2014 and scored 119 runs.

3. Alicia Ester Smith

The former South African cricketer, Alicia Smith, was born on 13 March 1984. She played as a right-arm medium bowler and right-handed batter. She has played three Test matches, scored 86 runs, and took four significant wickets. She made her Test debut on 7 August 2003 against England.

4. Anneka Elizabeth Bosch

Anneka Bosch, born 17 August 1993, is a South African cricketer. Bosch; was named in South Africa’s Women’s Test squad for their one-off match against England women. She made her Test debut on 27 June 2002 for South Africa against England. She has taken three wickets and scored 30 runs in that match.

5. Daleen Terblanche

Magdalena “Daleen” Terblanche is a former South African cricketer born on 19 October 1969. She played as a right-handed batter and as a wicketkeeper. She appeared in four Test matches and scored 186 runs. Scoring valuable runs when the team needed them, especially in Test matches, made her a vital player for her team.

6. Sunette Loubser

The former South African women’s cricket player Sunette Loubser was born on 26 September 1982. A right-arm off-breaker, she captained the South African national team in 2009. She has taken 11 wickets in Test matches,  appearing only in two games. She took eight wickets in the Test match against the Netherlands.

7. Alison Lucille Hodgkinson

The former South African women’s team captain, Alison Lucille Hodgkinson, was born on 30 January 1977. She is a right-handed batter, appeared in 3 Test matches, and scored 239 runs. She made her Test debut on 19 March 2002 against India. She is well known for her leadership qualities.

8. Cri-Zelda Brits

Cri-Zelda Brits, born 20 November 1983, is a South African cricketer. She is a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler. She is a consistent player, performing well with bat and with bat. She is one of South African women’s most prolific batsmen.

9. Sunette Stella Viljoen-louw

Sunette Stella Viljoen-Louw, born 6 October 1983, is a South African sportswoman. She represented her country in cricket and athletics. She made her Test debut on 19 March 2002. She scored 88 runs in a Test match against India in 2002. Her final international game for South Africa was in March 2002 in a home series against India.

10. Marizanne Kapp

Marizanne Kapp, born 4 January 1990, is an international cricketer who plays for the South African national women’s cricket team. She made her Test debut on 16 November 2014 against India. Kapp scored her first century in Test cricket with 150 runs against England in June 2022. She has the record of having the highest individual score for South Africa in women’s Test matches.
