It is a privilege to represent your country at the international level in any sport, and cricket is one of them. Few cricketers have played for more than one country in their international careers. To date, 15 players have played Tests and ODIs for more than one country, and 14 cricketers have represented more than one country in T20Is. Here are the top 10 cricketers who have played for more than one country.

1. Eoin Morgan

Morgan is one of the few cricketers and probably the most famous cricketer to have played for more than one country. He represented both Ireland and England at the international level. Morgan represented Ireland in 23 ODIs from 2006-2009 but then started playing for England in 2009 and even represented them at the 2009 T20 World Cup. He played 225 ODIs for England, 102 T20Is, and 16 Test matches before his retirement in June 2022.

2. Luke Ronchi

Ronchi is the only cricketer to have played for Australia and New Zealand at the international level. He made his debut for the Aussies in 2008 and played 4 ODIs and 3 T20Is for Australia. Then he made his debut for New Zealand in 2013 and played 81 ODIs, 29 T20Is, and 4 tests for New Zealand. Ronchi retired from international cricket in 2017.

3. Geraint Jones

Geraint Jones is also one of the few players to have played international cricket for more than one country. He has represented England and Papua New Guinea at the international level. Jones made his debut for the England national cricket team in 2004 and played 34 Tests and 49 ODIs for England. In 2012 then, he started playing for PNG and played for them in 2 official ODIs.

4. Mark Chapman

Mark Chapman has represented both Hong Kong and New Zealand internationally. He made his official international debut for Hong Kong in 2014 and played 2 ODIs and 19 T20Is for Hong Kong. In 2018, he made his debut for New Zealand and has represented them in 4 ODIs and 14 T20Is until now.

                                       

5. Dirk Nannes

Dirk Nannes represented the Netherlands and Australia both at the international level. He played 2 T20Is for the Netherland in 2009 and then played 15 T20s and 1 ODI for the Aussies. He played in the 2009 T20 World Cup for the Netherlands and the 2010 T20 World Cup for Australia.

6. Keppler Wessels

Keppler Wessels was the first cricketer to play ODIs for two countries. He played for both Australia and South Africa at the international level. He played 54 ODIs for Australia and then 55 ODIs for South Africa and also played 24 Test matches for Australia and 16 Test matches for South Africa.

7. Ed Joyce

Joyce is one of the few cricketers to have played for Ireland and England both at the international level. He made his international debut for the England national cricket team in 2006 and represented them in 17 ODIs and 2 T20Is. In 2011 he started playing for Ireland and played 61 ODIs, 16 T20s, and 1 Test match for the Irish national cricket team. Joyce retired from international cricket in 2018.

8. David Wiese

David Wiese has represented South Africa and Namibia both at the international level. He made his international debut for the South African  national cricket team in 2013 and played 6 ODIs and 20 T20Is for them until 2016. In 2021 Wiese started playing for Namibia and has represented them in 5 ODIs and 16 T20Is matches until now. He was a big match-winner for Namibia at the 2021 T20 World Cup and helped them qualify for the Super 12 stage of the competition.

9. Boyd Rankin

Boyd Rankin is the only cricketer to have played for one international team, then represented another international team, but then returned to play for his older international side. Like Eoin Morgan and Ed Joyce, he also played for both Ireland and England. Joyce made his first debut for Ireland in 2007 and represented them up until 2012. Then from 2013-2014, he represented England at the international level and played 2 T20Is, 7 ODIs, and 1 Test for England. Then in 2016, he again started playing for Ireland and, has played 68 ODIs, 48 T20Is, and 2 Test matches for Ireland. Rankin retired from international cricket in 2020.

                                       

10. Xavier Marshall

Xavier Marshall has represented the West Indies and the United States of America at the international level. He made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in 2005 and played 24 ODIs, 6 T20Is, and 7 Test matches for the Windies until 2009. In 2019 he played his first international cricket match for the USA national cricket team and has represented them in 13 ODIs and 14 T20s until now.
