The Indian Premier League is widely known for producing spectacular players each year. It is one of the most competitive leagues in the world, where players from distinct countries take part. Each year, we get to see some record-breaking, thrilling, and nail-biting moments. On the one hand, where the fans get pumped up to see players smashing boundaries; on the other hand, there are instances when wickets fall so quickly that the team is restricted to a meagre score. So, let’s look at some of the lowest team scores in the IPL.

1. 49 Runs

RCB, which, on the one hand, holds the record for setting up the highest total in the IPL, also has the record for setting up the lowest total. In 2017, at the Eden Gardens, RCB got bowled out in a mere 9.4 overs, setting a target of 49 Runs against KKR. The latter won the match because it was a cakewalk for them to chase such a low target.

2. 58 Runs

Second on this list is when the Rajasthan Royals hit 58 Runs against RCB in 2009. It took place in Cape Town. RR was bowled out entirely in 15.1 overs.

3. 59 Runs

During this year’s IPL, RR, while chasing the target of 172, were bowled out in 10.3 overs and had hit merely 59 Runs by then. This defeat highly impacted the RR’s net run rate, which diminished their chances of qualifying.

4. 66 Runs

On the fourth spot is when the Delhi Daredevils were restricted to a score of 66 Runs by MI. It took place in May 2017 in Delhi.

5. 67 Runs

On the fifth spot, we again have the Delhi Daredevils. It happened in April 2017, when they got bowled out after scoring just 67 Runs in Mohali against the Kings Eleven Punjab.

6. 67 Runs

Next on the list is KKR, who got out in 15.2 overs in 2008. MI’s terrific bowling unit restricted KKR’s score to 67 Runs at the Wankhede Stadium.

7. 68 Runs

Next on the list is when RCB got all out by the SRH in 2022 in 16 overs. Though RCB is popular for its destructive batting, on that day, their players could not withstand the powerful bowling attack of the SRH. Due to this, RCB was able to score only 68 Runs.

8. 70 Runs

On the eighth spot, we again have RCB. In 2019, CSK bowled out RCB within 17.1 overs in Chennai. It led to RCB setting up a target of just 70 Runs.

9. 70 Runs

Surprisingly, RCB occupies the ninth spot on this list as well. In 2014, when RCB locked horns with RR, the former got bowled out for only 70 Runs.

10. 73 Runs

Kings Eleven Punjab occupies the last position in this list of the lowest team scores in the IPL. It happened when Punjab was bowled out by the Rising Pune Supergiants in 2017 in Pune.
