Many players have won the most significant number of Players of the Match awards in cricket, but some famous and well-known cricketers have never won any Man of the Match award in a particular format.

1. Mohammed Shami (Test)

Mohammed Shami is currently one of the finest bowlers in the world. No one can forget his excellent bowling performance in the 2023 World Cup. India won many matches due to his outstanding spells. Despite being a fantastic bowler, it is shocking that Mohammed Shami has never received any Man of the Match award in test cricket. 2. Nasser Hussain (ODI)

Nasser Hussain was one of the greatest captains that England ever produced. England has won many test cricket matches, especially in test cricket. But weirdly, he has never won any Man of the Match award in One-day internationals. In his ODI career, Nasser Hussain scored one century and 16 half-centuries. Even though he won awards in test cricket, he could not win any player of the match award in white-ball cricket. Nasser Hussain scored 96 tests and 88 ODIs in his career, 7 scoring 2,332, respectively.

3. Dwayne Bravo (Test)

Dwayne Bravo is one of the greatest all-rounders that West Indies has ever produced. Especially in T20 cricket, he was one of the biggest match-winners for West Indies. Dwayne Bravo is also a two-time T20 World Cup winner for West Indies. But this talented Player never succeeded in getting the Player of the Match award in test cricket. In his test career, Dwayne Bravo has played 40 matches in which he scored 2,200 runs with an average of 31, which includes three centuries and 13 half-centuries.

4. Yuvraj Singh (Test)

Yuvraj Singh is one of the biggest match-winners that India has ever produced. He was also one of the most prominent performers in India’s wins in the 2007 and 2011 World Cups. Yuvraj Singh is the best all-rounder that India has ever witnessed in white-ball cricket. No one can forget his performance in the 2011 World Cup, where he had cancer. But despite having exceptional white-ball records, Yuvraj Singh never managed to make his place fixed in test cricket. He never got a man of the match award in his test cricket. In his test career, Yuvraj Singh has played 40 matches, scoring 1,900 runs with a decent average of 33.9.

5. Tim Paine (Test)

Tim Paine is a former right-handed wicketkeeper of Australia. After Warner and Smith’s one-year ban, Australia appointed Tim Paine as their new red-ball captain. After that, Tim Paine captained Australia in 23 tests. But throughout his test career of 74 matches, Tim Paine had never been able to win the Player of the Match award. Even though Australia won many matches under his captaincy, Tim Paine never got a Man of the Match award. In his test career, Tim Paine played 74 games in which he scored 2,898 runs with a poor average of 25.9.

6. Murali Vijay (Test)

Murali Vijay is a former right-handed batsman from India. There was a time when he used to be India’s opener for test cricket. Murali Vijay has performed and played many match-winning innings for India. Despite his decent batting performance, he never got a Player of the Match award in any test match. In his test career, he has scored 12 centuries and 15 half-centuries, which is a decent stat for any batsman. In his test career of 61 matches, Murali Vijay has scored 3,982 runs with a respectable average of 38.3.

7. Colin Munro (ODI)

There was a time when Colin Munro was one of the leading players in New Zealand’s team. He used to be the rank no. 1 batsman in T20 cricket. In T20 cricket, Colin Munro has played fantastic match innings and won 7 man-of-the-match awards in T20. But in ODI cricket, he has never successfully gotten the Player of the Match award. 8. Suranga Lakmal (Test)

Despite being a decent fats-bowler, Suranga Lakmal has never won a man of the match award in test cricket. 9. Denesh Ramdin (Test)

In his test career, Denesh Ramdin has scored four centuries in which 166 runs was his highest test score. 10. Nayan Mongia (ODI)

Nayan Mongia is a former right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper of India. In the 90s, he was India's permanent wicketkeeper. With his excellent wicketkeeping, Nayan Mongia has played over 100 ODI matches for India. But in any ODI match Nayan Mongia played, he never got a Player of the Match award. In his career, Nayan Mongia has played 40 tests and 140 ODI, 4 scoring 1,272 runs respectively.
