An ODI game consists of 50 overs each side and usually ends in a day. There are many records made in ODI crickets. Many teams score a massive total and then win by fantastic bowling. However, there are some times when the teams are unable to achieve high totals. In this article, we will look at the top 10 lowest scores made in ODI cricket.
1. Afghanistan – 58
This match was played on 2 January 2016. Zimbabwe was playing first and scored 175 runs. While chasing, the Afghanistan team was bowled out for just 58 runs. Luke Jongwe took five wickets in this match. Hamilton Masakadza was given the Man of the Match award for scoring 83 runs.
2. Bangladesh – 58
This match was played on 17 June 2014. India was batting first in this match and was bowled out for just 105 runs. Taskin Ahmed grabbed five wickets in this match. But while chasing, Bangladesh collapsed at just 58 runs, with six wickets from Stuart Binny. Stuart gave his best ODI performance ever, 6/4. Stuart was given the Man of the Match award for this performance.
3. West Indies – 54
This match was played on 25 January 2004. South Africa was batting first in this match and scored 263 runs, with the help of a century from Jacques Kallis. While chasing, West Indies was bowled out for just 54 runs. Kallis was given Man of the Match for his excellent performance.
4. India – 54
This match was the final of the 2000 Champions Trophy. Sri Lanka batted first and smashed 299 runs, with the help of 189 runs from Captain Sanath Jayasuriya. While Chasing, India was bowled out for just 54 runs. Chaminda Vaas took five wickets in this match. Sanath was given the award of Man of the Match.
5. Namibia – 45
This match was part of the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Australia was batting first in this match and scored 301 runs against Namibia. However, in their chase, Namibia was bowled out just for 45 runs.
