T20I cricket is a recent development in the existing format of cricket, and its beginning can be traced back to 2003 when England and Wales Cricket Board started it. T20I is a 20 overs game where the two competing teams get to play a single inning. Canada is an associate member of ICC. Associate Members are the organizing bodies for cricket of a country approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC) or nations associated for cricket purposes, which do not qualify as a Full Member, but where cricket is firmly authorized and regulated. The Canada Cricket Team made its T20I debut on August 02, 2008, against the Netherlands at Belfast. T20I cricket demands a high level of vigor from the players in the team, and the batters have a dominant role in the format.

1. Dillon Heyliger
