When Bangladesh made its first appearance in Test cricket, it did not go smoothly. Their first test match victory came in 2004 against Zimbabwe by 226 runs. Bangladesh has registered test match victories over established teams such as Australia, England, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand in the past few years. 1. Mushfiqur Rahim (219*)
Mushfiqur Rahim holds the highest test match score for the Bangladesh cricket team. Rahim scored an unbeaten 219 off 421 deliveries against Zimbabwe at Shere Bangla Stadium in Mirpur in 2018. His innings comprised 18 fours and one six and was enough for his team to win the test match by 218 runs.
2. Shakib al Hasan (217)
The Bangladeshi all-rounder scored 217 runs off 276 balls against New Zealand, including 31 hits to the fence in 2017. The Basin Reserve in Wellington was the host of this test match, and his innings went in vain as the Kiwis passed them by seven wickets.
3. Tamim Iqbal (206)
The opening batter Tamim Iqbal made 206 runs off 278 deliveries against Pakistan at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna in 2015. Tamim’s 206 consisted of 17 fours and seven sixes, and he lasted 448 minutes at the crease. Tamim’s inning was the reason why this test match got drawn.
4. Mushfiqur Rahim (203*)
Rahim makes his second entry on this list. The wicket-keeper batter scored a magnificent unbeaten 203 that came off 318 balls against Zimbabwe at Shere Bangla Stadium in Mirpur in 2020. Rahim hit 28 boundaries during his 203 that resulted in a win for Bangladesh by an innings and 106 runs.
5. Mushfiqur Rahim (200)
In March 2013, the Bangladesh test team created history when Mushfiqur Rahim made the first double century for the tigers in the test cricket. Rahim made 200 runs off 321 deliveries against Sri Lanka, consisting of 22 fours and one six. Galle International Stadium in Sri Lanka hosted this test match which ended in a draw.
6. Mohammad Ashraful (190)
Former Bangladesh batter Mohammad Ashraful made 190 runs 417 balls against Sri Lanka, including 20 fours and one six in 2013. It was the test match where Mushfiqur Rahim hit the first double hundred in test cricket for Bangladesh. The host of this match was Galle International Stadium.
7. Mominul Haque (181)
Mominul Haque scored 181 runs off 274 deliveries against New Zealand in Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram in October 2013. The left-hander’s innings comprised 27 boundaries and helped Bangladesh draw the test match.
8. Mominul Haque (176)
Haque makes another entry on this list. The future Bangladesh skipper hit 176 runs off 214 balls against Sri Lanka at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram in January 2018. Haque’s innings consisted of 16 fours and one hit outside the park, and this test match resulted in a draw.
9. Najmul Hossain Shanto (163)
Shanto is a left-handed batter who usually bats in the top order. He registered his highest Test score against Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in April 2021 in a drawn test match. Shanto scored 163 runs off 378 deliveries, including 17 fours and one six, and batted for 533 minutes during his innings.
10. Mominul Haque (161)
Haque makes his third entry here because of his 161 runs innings against Zimbabwe at Shere Bangla National Stadium in November 2018. Mominul’s innings came off 247 deliveries and comprised 19 boundaries. The left-hander’s inning was instrumental in taking the tigers to a comprehensive victory over their opponents by 218 runs.
