Cricket is a game without boundaries. Players, no matter where they are born, can still serve the country they want to play for. England is a multilingual country and so is its cricket team. England has seen players from more than 25 countries play for them and help them win matches. So, today we will talk about the players who, despite being born in different countries, played for England. We bring you the 10 non-English players who played for the England Cricket Team. To start with:

1. Nawab Of Pataudi Senior

Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi was born in India in 1910. He was an Indian prince and an Indian cricketer. Apart from playing for India, he also played test matches for England from 1932-1934. He became the only test cricket player to have played for both India and England. He scored a century on his test debut while playing for England. He also played county cricket in 1933.

2. Tony Greig

Tony Greig is a South African native who played cricket for the England Cricket team. He was born in South Africa, but due to his parents’ Scottish lineage, he could play for England. He was appointed the captain of the England cricket team from 1975-1977. He was an all-rounder and could bowl as a pacer and a spinner. He spent his last days in Australia and passed away in 2012 owing to lung cancer.

3. Jason Roy

He is a Right-handed opening batsman who has played T20 and ODI for the England Cricket team. Roy was born in South Africa but moved to England with his family at a very young age. He was part of the 2019 World Cup-winning Squad. He has scored 4000+ runs in ODI for England.

4. Phil Salt

Phil Salt is an England Cricket player who debuted in ODI in 2021. This 26-year-old cricketer was part of the squad which won the 2022 T20 world cup. He was born in Wales and played for the under-11 North East Wales. He moved to England at the age of 15. He has scored 406 runs in 10 ODI matches so far.

5. Sam Robson

Sam is an Australian-born cricketer who plays cricket for England. He is a right-handed batsman who played under-19 cricket for Australia. He debuted for the England cricket team in 2014 as a test batsman. He is also playing County cricket in England. He scored his test cricket century in 2014 against Sri Lanka in England’s First innings.

6. Dougie Brown

Brown was born in Scotland in the year 1969. He has played cricket for Scotland and was the head coach of the United Arab Emirates national team. He also played ODI for England in 1997-98. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler and a right-handed batsman. He has also played Champions trophy for England in 1997.

7. Tom Curran

Curran is a 28-year-old cricketer born in Cape Town, South Africa. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who plays for the England cricket team. He moved to England to complete his higher Education. He has taken 34 wickets in his ODI career. He has also played in the IPL from 2018-2021.

8. Eoin Morgan

Eoin is a retired English cricketer and a commentator. He was born in Dublin, Ireland. He moved to England at a very young age and always wanted to play cricket. He remained the captain of the England cricket team from 2014 to 2022. He has a total of 14 centuries to his name. He was appointed as the Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2020 to honor his services.

9. Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes was born in New Zealand but played as an England cricket player. He was the top scorer in the 2019 World Cup final and helped England, in lifting the Cup. He came to England at the age of 12 and started playing cricket. He has also been part of the T20 world cup squad of 2022, which lifted the Trophy.

10. Jofra Archer

This 28-year-old England cricket player was born in Bridgetown, Barbados in the year 1995. He is a right-arm fast bowler. He moved to England in 2015. Initially, it was decided that due to a certain period of residency, he could not play for England until 2022. But in 2018, ECB changed its regulations, and Jofra debuted in 2019.
