With everyone interested in their favorite cricketers' lifestyles, here are some notable cricketers and their favorite food that every fan should be aware of. They go to the gym to shed some kilos. They work out to stay in shape. They are constantly preaching a healthy lifestyle and have become icons for many. However, cricketers are human, and they, like us, have numerous favorites in their lives, particularly eating. Cricket, particularly in India, is a conglomeration of all things significant. The matches, the players, their lifestyle, and the celebration that follows with every triumph all get a lot of attention from fans because this is what they want to relate to after the dust settles, the human side of these on-field Gods. Cricket is a sport that requires a lot of fitness and to do so, cricketers have to go through a rigorous training regime. Take the example of Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper who has been completely transformed after he started to take care of his fitness and diet. Similarly, Indian cricketers are well renowned around the world for having very high fitness levels. Having said that though, Indian cricketers are also human like the rest of us, and once in a while, they are allowed to break the diet program and gorge on their favorite food dishes.

1. MS Dhoni

The ex-captain cool enjoys eating really hot and spicy foods such as butter chicken with naan, kebabs, and chicken tikka pizza. I can only imagine how tough it was for him to resist the impulse to consume all of these things because we can't control the boss. Can we have the fastest pair of legs between the wickets by eating such spicy food? The former Indian skipper is yet another food lover on the team. Dhoni likes every possible thing that is related to chicken whether it be kebabs to chicken butter masala to chicken tikka pizza all come under his favorite food category. MS Dhoni has even mentioned Chicken Butter Masala in his Twitter bio. The 38-year-old player also has a special liking for sweet desert-like Gajar ka halwa and Kheer. Also, he makes sure to drink milk daily as it’s his favorite drink and it’s healthy too. Having said that though, as per his age, Dhoni has become very particular about what he eats daily. He is trying to prolong his career, and that’s why diet has a very crucial role in it if the wicket-keeper batsman wants to remain injury-free.

2. Sachin Tendulkar

The God of Cricket, like us, enjoys good food and has several favorite meals, primarily seafood, such as Keema Parathas, Prawn Masala, Lassi, Sushi, and Sashimi. Start eating marine food if you want to shatter all the records as a batter.

3. Virat Kohli

The fittest and now most popular cricketer of the Indian team, King Kohli, loves to eat Chole Bhature and Sushi. We don't think Chole Bhature is the reason for his fitness and those six-pack abs since Chole Bhature is merely the reason for our family pack. Renowned as a world-class athlete Virat pleases Japanese food, especially Sushi as it is his favorite dish. However, being a Punjabi he also loves Aloo Da Paratha, Chole Bhature, and dishes made from chicken. As a young cricketer growing up in Delhi, Virat used to go eat street food, especially noodles and stuff like that, after practice sessions and matches, but now the 31-year-old has become very conscious about his diet, and it reflects on his performances as well.

4. Rohit Sharma

The only player to score three double hundreds in ODIs, the Hitman has a lot of love and longing for food that every mother used to make, aloo paratha, especially in the morning, and we are still not able to hit enormous sixes like him, we guess hitman is built differently. Being a Mumbaikar, Rohit is a big food lover and has a soft corner for vada pav and pav bhaji. However, when given a choice, he always opts for aloo paratha. The swashbuckling opener also loves Chinese cuisine and is fond of eggs as well. As vice-captain of the team, Rohit is one of the top performers and the team heavily relies on him. The 32-year-old has been injured lately, but he is expected to be back soon.

5. Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir, the Delhi kid and unsung hero of 2007 T20 and 2011 50 over World Cups, not only gets his jersey dirty but also his hands with Rajma Chawal, and who doesn't love Rajma Chawal.

6. Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh, the famous all-rounder and 2011 World Cup man of the tournament, like continental cuisine but dislikes Chinese cuisine. As a Punjabi, he prefers meals like Kadhi rice or palak paneer.

7. Ravichandran Ashwin

The right arm off breaker adores the food his mother prepares for him, and his favorite meal is Paneer Capsicum. Mom's food, or perhaps paneer as well, is the source of his energy. The veteran all-rounder who is a big threat for other teams is surprisingly a Mumma’s boy as Ashwin likes only homemade food prepared by his mother. Whenever he gets free from his busy schedule he makes sure to have homemade food especially, Ashwin loves paneer capsicum that his mother prepares. Being a vegetarian, it comes as no surprise that Ashwin is injury-free, even at the fag end of his career.

8. Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of the mainstays in the Indian bowling unit, however, he is known to be a shy person. As far as his food preferences are concerned, the 30-year-old craves homemade food, particularly Kadhi Chawal. Moreover, Bhuvneshwar is very fond of Urad ki daal (black gram) made by his mom. The right-arm pacer is also recuperating from an injury setback and featured recently at the DY Patil T20 cup. He was due to line up for the national team against South Africa, but the ODI series was called off due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

9. Yuzvendra Chahal

The right-arm leg spinner, who is renowned for Chahal TV, a post-match interview, Yuzvendra Chahal loves butter chicken, garlic naan, chole, Pani puri, dal, and green chutney. It seems Chahal is quite a foodie. The 29-year-old is known to be one of the funniest players in the Indian dressing room, as evident from his social media antics.

10. Rishabh Pant

The young batsman renowned for his explosive batting, Rishabh Pant likes aloo paratha, and he’s got a sweet tooth for ice cream as well. The 22-year-old has been in and out of the batting order in the past couple of months, but we hope that a talented player such as him can be a mainstay in the Indian team.
