T20 World Cup is an international championship of twenty-twenty cricket, organized by the International Cricket Council. Sixteen teams play in the tournament, and out of these 16 teams, India emerges as one of the successful teams in the tournament. The journey of the T20 World Cup for India has been nothing less than a rollercoaster ride. Out of the seven T20 World Cups that have happened, India has won just one. Till 2021, India played 38 matches in T20 World Cup. Let us look at the top ten players on the Indian Cricket Team who have played the most T20 World Cup matches.

1. MS Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a right-hand wicketkeeper batsman. He made his T20 World Cup debut in 2007 and was the captain of the winning team. He has played till the 2016 World Cup. Dhoni played 33 games and scored 529 runs in 29 innings with an average of 35.26 and a strike rate of 123.88 with 16 sixes.

2. RG Sharma

Rohit Gurunath Sharma is a right-handed top-order batsman. He started playing during the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 and is currently playing. Rohit played 33 games in T20 World Cup for India has scored 847 runs in 30 innings with an average of 38.50 and a strike rate of 131.52 with eight fifties and 31 sixes.

3. Y Singh

Yuvraj Singh is a left-hand middle-order allrounder from India. Yuvi played in the T20 World Cup from 2007 to 2016. He has played 31 games and scored 593 runs in 28 innings with an average of 23.72, and a strike rate of 128.91 with four fifties and 33 sixes. He bowled in 14 innings, played 31 games, took 12 wickets with an average of 19.16, and has an economy of 7.26.

4. Suresh Kumar Raina 

Suresh Kumar Raina is a left-hand middle-order batsman. He made his T20 World Cup debut for India in 2009 and played till 2016. Raina scored 453 runs in 26 games playing 21 innings with an average of 25.16 and a strike rate of 130.17 with one fifty and 12 sixes. He has also taken five wickets.

5. Ravindrasinh Anirudhsinh Jadeja 

Ravindrasinh Anirudhsinh Jadeja is a slow left-arm orthodox allrounder from India. He played his first T20 World Cup game in 2009 and is currently playing too. Jadeja has taken 21 wickets in 22 games with an average of 25.19 and an economy of 7.14. He has also scored 95 runs with an average of 15.83.

6. Gautam Gambhir 

Gautam Gambhir is a left hand top order batsman. He played in the T20 World Cup from 2007 to 2012. Gambhir has an average of 26.20 in 20 innings in 21 games. Gautam has scored 524 runs with a strike rate of 118.01 with four fifties and six sixes.

7. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is a right-hand top-order batsman from India. The King of Cricket played the T20 World Cup in 2012 and is currently playing. Kohli scored 845 runs playing 21 games and 19 innings. He has an average of 76.81 and a strike rate of 129.60 with ten fifties and 20 sixes.

8. Harbhajan Singh 

Harbhajan Singh is a right-arm off-break bowler who played from 2007 to 2012 in the World Cup. Bhaji has played 19 games and took 16 wickets with an average of 29.25 and an economy of 6.78. He also has one four-wicket haul.

9. Ravichandran Ashwin 

Ravichandran Ashwin is a right arm offbreak bowling allrounder. He started his World Cup journey in 2012 and has been playing till now. Ashwin played 18 games and took 26 wickets in 18 innings with an average of 15.26 and an economy of 6.01 with one four-wicket haul.

10. Irfan Khan Pathan 

Irfan Khan Pathan is a left-arm medium-fast allrounder. He played T20 World Cup from 2007 to 2012 and took 16 wickets in 15 games playing 14 innings with an average of 20.06 and an economy of 7.46.
